This has got to be one of the strangest powder compacts I have owned!

This is a rare and quirky item dating from 1945, by Detroit company Plate. It is their Trio-ette which they subsequently sold the rights to, and it was sold under another name in London by the end of the decade. The material is celluloid and these came in a variety of colours;

Just doing some photo editing on the latest things to go into the shop. There is a year stamped on this compact by Richard Hudnut, anyone want to hazard a guess at what it is? 🙂

One of the jobs here at Telepathic Towers is taking a beaten up old compact and giving it a bit of a clean. These photos are completely unretouched or filtered (but taken an hour apart so the light is a little yellower). The enamel has more of a shine, the tarnished metalwork has come up quite a bit, but unfortunately the mirror damage is behind it and the wear on the base will always be there.
If you collect things it's good to use silica gel sachets where they're stored, to extend their life a bit more.
