🦄 PUNK ROCK UNICORN YARNS HAS LANDED AT The Yarnery just in time for the weekend!

You might remember me posting about meeting these guys in Cologne when I visited h+h in March with Emily and being desperate to stock their prods. After selecting which colourways to go for, the order was hand dyed in Germany by the team and shipped to the UK for you all to get your yarny paws on.

The Unicorn and Mermaid Tears are tdf and INCREDIBLY limited availability. Pru are a small outfit of indie dyers and producers so each skein is MAGIC.

The Yarnery is open tomorrow from 10:30 - 5:00

Some people buy clothes. She makes them.

At last night’s Ho**ers, Bethan came in wearing her latest crocheted piece and we all loved it so much that I couldn’t let her leave without taking some pictures so you could all share in the joy!

Made with 4ply YarnArt Jeans 50/50, this electric blue shrug of dreams is a great mid season make and has been hooked to perfection. Bethan joined the gang at The Yarnery a little while ago having already learnt how to crochet by herself. She came looking for inspiration and lols and brought with her dry whit, the most amazing energy and the ability to make us all jealous with her counting skills.

Thank you for being part of the community, Bethan, it wouldn’t be a Tuesday evening without you now!

🌸 Workshop announcement 🌸

Join me at The Yarnery on July 18th to make your own crochet market bag!

This three hour workshop will include all materials to work with on the day and enough to take away with you to complete your projects at home. You will also receive your own copy of Salena Baca’s fabulous book including ten market bag patterns to add to your crochet library.

Basic crochet knowledge is essential for this one - if you can make chains, SC/DC DC/TR we can cover everything else on the day. Being familiar with a standard increase in the round would also be advantageous but not strictly necessary!

A fifty percent booking fee is required to reserve you space on this workshop with the balance being due a week before. All workshoppers will be offered refreshments whilst they craft and can benefit from a 15% off in stock yarn discount on the day of the event.

27/06 - Join Amy from Inspire Block Printing and I to block print your own rug and crochet an edge on it in the afternoon. No experience necessary! This whole-day workshop will start at 10:30 and finish at 4:30

04/07 - Build a Bouquet Crochet workshop as announced earlier.

What colour Sophie scarf have you all got on your needles today?

Let’s not pretend you’re not at least considering casting one on for easy sofa knitting whilst bingeing some Sunday television.

This one was made with Knitpro Symfonie Viva 100% Merino in Summer Romance but I prefer to wear it as a tie because I’m super edgy like that… 🤓

After posting the images from yesterday’s Build a Crochet Bouquet Workshop, there have been lots of messages requesting another date. So…

Here it is:

Saturday July 4th 1:30pm - 6:00pm

During the event you will work with guidance from Li Li’s Crochet a Flower Bouquet book which you will be able to take away with you at the end of the workshop and keep. Choose from 35 flowers and foliage and receive step-by-step instructions on how to construct the finished blooms and attach the flower heads and leaves to stems for the most life-like results.

Tickets are £55 and all materials will be provided on the day including a copy of the book, yarns, wires and art supplies. Glue guns will be on hand to help with construction. We will be working with 100% cotton dk yarn for our flowers. A fifty percent booking fee of this workshop will be required to reserve your space.

Attendees must know how to crochet before booking on to this workshop. Unfortunately there won’t be time to go over the basics at this event. Please bring your hooks 🤓

This afternoon I hosted the first of The Yarnery’s three Crochet Flower Bouquet workshops and what an absolute TREAT it was!

Thank you to those of you that came to create with me. All the flowers were beautifully constructed and you all did super well. Each Ho**er picked stems from Li Li’s book to make and everyone now has their own copy to take away and carry on creating at home.

I already can’t wait to meet those that are coming to next weekend’s session. Who’s excited?
