So today, with a heavy heart I put my market money belt on for the last time after 35 years trading on Chelmsford retail market, man and boy. After 2 years from hell, a car crash and a stroke, it’s all taken its toll and it’s time to listen to my body. You can only get on with it for so long and I really have tried with a smile on my face. I’d just like to thank all my loyal customers over the years; I can’t thank you enough, some of you are not just customers but friends too. I will miss this place and my fellow traders and market staff, for those that have left and those that are still here I wish you all the best for the future

🐧 We had a special visitor at Chelmsford Market!

Pops the Penguin stopped by to meet some of our fantastic stallholders and explore everything the market has to offer.

From family favourites like GC Smith Butchers to Chelmsford Wholefoods and Caribbean Flavour, Pops enjoyed discovering the wide variety of food, produce and independent businesses that make Chelmsford Market so special.

But Pops wasn't just there to shop! They were also spreading the word about the state-of-the-art leisure centres across Chelmsford and encouraging stallholders to come along and try them out. With a free gym trial option, it's the perfect way to discover what works for you before committing to a membership.

The Essex Cosplayers will be joining us tomorrow at our Family Fun Day and we’re thrilled to announce they will be joined by Ross who appeared in Star Wars The Last Jedi, as the body double for Supreme Leader Snoke. He also played a Wookiee in SOLO A Star Wars Story!
