It hits home because I spent years holding onto things that haven’t fitted since the late nineties. We keep those old jeans as a stick to beat ourselves with, like a bit of denim could somehow prove we are still the same women we were twenty years ago.
After four and a half years of running this boutique, I have realised that most of us are just dressing a ghost. We keep the smaller sizes at the back of the drawer, but catching your side profile in the full length mirror by mistake after a shower shouldn’t feel like a betrayal.
I value the woman you are today, the one who has survived the teenagers and the career shifts and the way her waist has decided to migrate north.
You don’t need to shrink yourself to fit a memory. You deserve fabrics that skim your middle and clothes that let you sit down at the pub without having to perform a tactical adjustment of your jumper. If you are tired of feeling like a stranger in your own skin, you are in the right place
Save this and come back when you’re ready to stop settling for Feeling like this about your body
