Sometimes the most meaningful pieces begin as nothing more than a passing comment.
Fay mentioned that she would love an aquamarine ring one day. Without thinking, my reply was simply, “let’s make one.” From that moment, the journey began.
That same evening, I searched through the aquamarines available from my suppliers and I found “her”. A breathtaking 5.40ct natural blue aquamarine unlike any I’d seen before. Even through the less-than-perfect picture, there was something so captivating. I immediately sent the image to Fay and asked her to trust me. I knew the photograph didn’t do it justice, but I also knew this was the stone. It felt as though it had always been waiting for her. Without hesitation she said “okay!”
When the aquamarine arrived, it was everything I’d hoped it would be. The colour danced between the softest ocean blue and flashes of deep aqua, changing with every movement of the light.
Fay visited my studio where we talked through every detail and imagined how this remarkable stone could be celebrated. We decided on an oval trilogy design in yellow gold framed by two pear diamonds. Timeless, balanced and designed entirely around that exquisite aquamarine.
There is something incredibly special about someone placing an idea, a dream they’ve imagined for years into my hands and believing that I can bring it to life. Every bespoke ring begins with trust. Trust in the process, the design, and that together we’ll create something even more beautiful than we first imagined.
This ring marks a wonderful new chapter for Fay and her family, making it even more meaningful.
When Fay and her husband married, they chose their own surname together. A name that represents growth, new beginnings and building a life together. It couldn’t have been more fitting that this design would become The Bloom.
