There was a time when my Sundays were all about getting ahead.
âś…Meal prepping/batch cooking
âś…Laundry/Ironing
âś…Cleaning
âś…Organising
Making sure every little thing was done before Monday arrived.
I convinced myself I was being productive, but if I’m honest, I was spending my precious weekends preparing for life instead of actually living it.
Then life taught me something I wish I had understood sooner…time is precious.
Over the last two years, I have took a long, hard look at how I was spending mine and realised I didn’t want my weekends to be ruled by the week ahead.
So what changed?
I stopped trying to do everything on a Sunday.
Instead, I spread the little jobs throughout the week. I became intentional with my time, tackling small tasks each day instead of saving everything for one overwhelming afternoon. I learned to pivot with the different seasons of life rather than sticking to a rigid plan, giving myself grace and flexibility when things don’t go exactly as planned.
And here’s the surprising part…I actually feel more organised now than I ever did before.
Because I’m no longer trying to carry the weight of an entire week on one day. My home runs more smoothly, my mind feels calmer, and I have space to enjoy the things that matter most.
Now my Sundays are for family dinners, hill walks, slow mornings and making memories. They’re no longer controlled by the week ahead—they’re spent fully in the moment.
It’s not perfect, but it’s real.
And it’s given me my Sundays back.
