We are delighted to be welcoming Carwyn Jones and Adéọlá Dewis to discuss ITV Wales' popular television show 'Vanished Wales' and to celebrate the publication of the book that accompanies the series 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

In this talk, Carwyn and Adéọlá will be discussing the fascinating stories of our lost Welsh landmarks: from vanished communities, hives of industry, cultural venues, wartime placements, Victorian superstructures and even entire villages. They will highlight once prominent places that have been wiped off the map in living memory, including, amongst others, the Wales Empire Pool and the Capitol Theatre.

Event coming up 📚 Join us in welcoming reporter and author Jen Stout to Cardiff, who will be giving a talk on her book as part of our Hayes Lectures series.

When Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine, millions of lives changed in an instant and people were suddenly on the move. In this great flow of people was reporter Jen Stout. Jen left Moscow abruptly, ending up on a border post in southeast Romania, from where she began to cover the human cost of Russian aggression.

Her first-hand, vivid reporting brought the war home to readers in the UK as she reported from front lines and cities across Ukraine; stories from the night trains, birthday parties, military hospitals and bunkers.

In this lecture, Jen will be talking about her book as well as her work in Ukraine from a broader perspective.

'Night Train to Odesa: Covering the Human Cost of Russia's War' is a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week and the winner of the Saltire Society First Book of the Year Award
