The Monster on the Hill An illustrated picture book about a boy that won't go to bed as he believes that there is a Monster Set on the hills in the Vale of Pewsey in Wiltshire. (Book 2)

This book tells the story of a boy called Ben. Ben is being told that it is his bedtime after having his tea. Ben does not want to go to bed because his vivid imagination has been building for some time and believes that he can see a Monster sat the hill outside his bedroom window. This is a group of trees that when silhouetted by the setting sun turns into the shape of a Monster. In his imaginati

on, he believes that the Monster is now real and is talking to him. His mother who is trying to get him to go to bed grows more frustrated as Ben refuses to go to bed. Her frustration builds to the point where she starts counting 1,2,3 etc Bed! The story unfolds with the Monster growing in detail as it develops claws and scales and says that he wants to eat Ben up for his tea. Eventually Ben goes to sleep. When he wakes up the next morning, he finds the Monster has turned back into the group of trees on the hill. However, the Monster Winks disappears and lands on a hill quite near to you.
