Well hello, Tuesday

And just like that, we’re back open and ready for the week ahead!

Our doors are open from 9:30am – 4:00pm today, and the flower stand is looking particularly gorgeous. In fact, these blooms are quickly becoming some of our firm favourites of the season.

So whether you’ve already placed an order for this week, have a special occasion to celebrate, or simply fancy treating yourself “just because” – this is the kind of floral vibe you can expect.

Soft, romantic, seasonal and full of character… and honestly? We’re completely obsessed.

Hello June. May - what a month you turned out to be!

We had the absolute privilege of creating flowers for 5 beautiful weddings, 9 farewell tributes, and making over 250 bouquets for so many wonderful people.

Oh - and the heat, dis we mention the heat ☀️ ☀️

Our garden has been bursting with summer plants, and our shop has been filled with flowers, laughter and some truly lovely customers.

Thank you for every order, recommendation, like, share and kind words. Your support means the world to us, and we’ve loved it all.

Here’s to a blooming June, more weddings, laughs and hopefully just a bit on the cooler side (please)

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of creating these stunning wedding flowers, and what a beautiful day it was.

The bride wanted something a little different — a bouquet full of personality and modern elegance. Soft blush pink orchids cascaded through the design, paired with sculptural white calla lilies and fresh green anthuriums to create a bouquet that felt both romantic and contemporary.

Thank you both for trusting me with such an important part of your wedding day. It was a real honour to play a small part in your celebrations and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.

Hanging Basket Tips

With the warmer weather finally making an appearance, your hanging baskets may need a little extra TLC to keep them looking their best.

A few top tips from us at The Flower Den:

💧 Water little and often — during very hot spells, baskets may need watering morning AND evening.

🌿 Water the soil, not the flowers — this helps prevent delicate blooms scorching or rotting.

☀️ Early morning or late evening watering is best — avoid watering in the heat of the day.

✂️ Deadhead regularly — removing spent blooms encourages fresh flowers and keeps baskets looking full.

🌱 Feed weekly — a liquid feed can make all the difference during summer - tomorite is amazing!

🍃 Don’t panic if they droop slightly in the afternoon heat — many bounce back once temperatures cool.

And finally… remember hanging baskets dry out far quicker than pots in the ground, especially in sunny or windy spots.

A week ago today, we had the honour and privilege of creating farewell flowers for a very special lady — someone we felt we came to know through the beautiful stories her family shared with us.

Her farewell flowers were full of colour, character and beauty… just like she was.

We even included elements from her own garden, making it truly bespoke and deeply personal — a one-of-a-kind tribute 🤍
