Music is coming to Burton today, and it’s not staying in one place.

From 11am, SonicBoom.org.uk 's Guerrilla Van Gigs will be appearing at secret locations around town, bringing live performances from local artists like Rosie Faith & Star From Ivy.

You won’t know where they’ll turn up, so keep your eyes and ears open. You might just stumble across a gig.

And remember, Sonic Boom comes to Burton Market Place on 12 September for a full day of live music.

Experience the many cultures of Burton.

There’s still plenty to discover as Burton Cultural Celebration continues.

Today: Create a Caribbean-style headdress at the Octagon Shopping Centre, then experience Burton and the Washlands through a guided live poetry walk this evening.

Friday: Keep your eyes peeled for the Sonic Boom van as it pops up around Burton with live music.

Saturday: Enjoy tea and cake at Tutbury Church and a celebration concert from Burton Band, record listening sessions at the Sonic Boom shop, and BACA’s Celebrate Gambia event, with food, traditional dress, music and family fun.

Everyone's Welcome. Come curious. Leave with something new.

Discover Burton in a new light.

This Burton Cultural Celebration Week, visit Burton Market Hall. Support our local traders, then discover a different side of the town with the Poetry Walk.

Starting behind Burton Library at 6.15pm, the guided walk follows the river and takes in some of Burton’s key places, including the Market Place, with spoken word performances and writing prompts inspired by the town along the way.

No writing experience needed and a notepad and pen are provided. Just bring your curiosity and see Burton from a different perspective.
