Some things should never end up in a skip.
House clearances can look like one of the simpler jobs we do. Clear the property, load the van, and leave the house ready for whatever comes next.
But for the people we're doing it for, it can be much more than that.
Today, we cleared the home for a lovely lady whose parents had sadly both passed away.
They had shared that home for over 40 years, with lots of memories made.
She had already taken the things she knew she wanted to keep, and what was left was ours to clear, and we could have simply got on with the job.
Instead, we took the time to look.
And more importantly, we took the time to care.
While working through the house, we found something she didn't even know existed.
A handwritten recipe for bara brith loaf, written in her mum's handwriting, a recipe she'd made for the family for years.
To most people, it would have looked like just another piece of paper.
To her, it was priceless.
Watching her face when we passed that to her, is a moment that will stay with us for a long time.
It's moments like that which remind us why we do things the way we do, and why we employ the people we employ.
A house clearance can be just about emptying a property.
But sometimes, a recipe isn't just a recipe.
