🐟 MONDAY: LITTLE COUNTER… BIG SEAFOOD ENERGY! 🐟

Mondays are always our quieter day on the fresh wet fish front — the boats have had their weekend in, they’re heading back out today and tomorrow the first fresh catch of the week starts rolling through our doors again. 🎣🔥

But judging by the rest of the shop… we’re hardly running on empty. 😂 We’ve got prawns, cockles, mussels, oysters, samphire, smoked goodies, pâtés, Sea Sisters tins, deli seafood and plenty more filling the chillers and freezers.

And whatever wet fish is left on the counter today gets the usual 10% OFF Monday treatment. 👀🐟
That offer is on wet fish only — not shellfish.

So if the wet fish selection is a little smaller today… there’s still plenty of seafood temptation waiting. 😏🦐🦪

Then buckle up for Tuesday — the boats are back at it and so are we. 💪🐟

SUNDAY SEAFOOD SERVICE… the boats might be having a lie-in, but we’re not. 😏🐟

As always on a Sunday, the wet fish side is a little more limited — the day boats are safely in, crews are getting their Sunday sorted, and tomorrow they’ll be back out hunting down Tuesday’s first fresh catch of the week. 🎣🌊

But limited definitely doesn’t mean boring… 👀

There’s still some absolute beauties on the ice including salmon portions, bass, skate, monkfish, John Dory, Megrim sole and oysters, plus those glazed prawn skewers at £2.95 each or 4 for £10 which are basically summer dinner on a stick. 🔥🦐

And remember, it’s not all about the wet counter either — our chillers, freezers and shelves are packed with seafood goodies, smoked favourites, ready-to-cook bits and plenty of things to rescue Sunday tea without having to think too hard. 😂

So today is very much “catch us while you can”… then tomorrow the boats get back to work and Tuesday we do it all over again with the first fresh landings of the week. ❤️🐟

🐟🔥 THE COUNTER’S SHOWING OFF… AND THIS TIME THE REST OF THE SHOP WANTS SOME ATTENTION TOO. 😂

Saturday at Seafoods and there is SO much more going on than just the wet fish counter.

First though… LOOK at that UK-CAUGHT TUNA 🇬🇧😍 Deep ruby red, beautifully firm and cut into proper chunky steaks — if you’ve been waiting to try British tuna, this is your sign. Pan seared, BBQ’d or kept beautifully rare in the middle… absolute class.

Then you’ve got those monster prawns, cracking mackerel, hake, megrim, monkfish, red mullet, bass, lobster, crab and plenty more sitting on ice looking like they know exactly how good they are. 😂🦞

BUT… have a nose around while you’re here 👀

Our Sea Sisters UK British conservas are a little shelf of seafood heaven — Cornish sardines, smoked trout, cuttlefish and more — alongside sauces, oils, hot honey, roe, seasonings and all sorts of bits to turn good fish into a seriously good dinner.

And that’s before you’ve even opened the doors to our TWO chillers and TWO freezers, packed with smoked fish, shellfish, seafood favourites and plenty of handy bits for another day.

Oh… and the prawn skewers are back doing what they do best 🔥 Chinese glaze, Texas BBQ, garlic butter, chilli & pepper… BBQ weather or not, we’d eat them anyway. 😂

Basically, come in for a bit of fish and you may accidentally leave with the weekend sorted. 🐟🦐🦞

🐟🔥 FISH FRIDAY HAS ENTERED THE CHAT… and just LOOK at it. 😮‍💨

Fresh deliveries are in and today’s counter is absolutely showing off. John Dory, Bass, Gilt-head bream, chunky Halibut, Cod, Haddock, Monkfish, Skate, Plaice, Red Gurnard, Mackerel and beautiful jigged squid — proper Fish Friday choice and some of the freshest fish you’ll find in the South West. ❤️🐟

And that absolute UNIT Ryan’s holding? Megrim sole, specially ordered in for a customer’s Fish Friday 👏 Proof that if you fancy something a bit different, just ask — we can source far more than what you see on the counter. Then there’s the shellfish… big whole cooked crabs, dressed crab, crab claws and those cracking cooked lobsters sitting pretty on the ice alongside scallops, oysters, mussels and prawns. 🦀🦞 Friday tea has officially been upgraded.

And finally… a little apology if we seemed slightly frazzled yesterday 😂 We walked in to a broken walk-in freezer compressor AND a walk-in chiller with no gas. Because apparently one refrigeration disaster at a time would’ve been far too easy. 😭🤣 Thankfully today is already MUCH more chilled… quite literally. ❄️😂

🌒🐟 RIGHT BURNHAM… WE’VE SOLVED THE MYSTERY OF LAST NIGHT’S ECLIPSE. 😂

Turns out it wasn’t the moon at all…

Ryan was just stood there holding THIS HALIBUT. 😳🤣🐟

Honestly, look at the size of it — that thing could block out half of Somerset. 😂

And after all the excitement in the sky last night, today’s counter is putting on a pretty decent show of its own. 😍🔥

That monster Halibut has been cut into gorgeous thick steaks, alongside chunky Cod, Monkfish, Huss, Bass, Plaice, Red Gurnard, sparkling Mackerel, Sardine fillets, fresh Squid, Salmon, Scallops and some absolutely enormous Crevettes. 👀🐟🦐

Then there’s the crab department… whole cooked crab, dressed crab, claws and lobsters all looking like they’ve decided to have their own little seafood festival. 🦀😂

And for the smoked fish lovers, we’ve got Kippers, Kipper fillets, smoked Haddock and natural smoked Haddock too. 😍

So if you spent last night looking up at the sky…

today, look down at the counter. 👀🐟

Because this one is an absolute beauty.

☀️🔥 BURNHAM’S TURNING UP THE HEAT… AND THE COUNTER’S LOOKING PRETTY HOT TOO! 🔥☀️

With another scorcher on the cards, this is exactly the sort of weather for fresh fish, quick cooking and something a little bit special for tea 😎🐟 And today we’ve got a few beauties that deserve their own moment in the sunshine…

First up — HUSS! 👀🐟

Now this is one of those fish that gets a lot of “what’s Huss?”… but there’s every chance some of you have eaten it before without even realising!

Remember going to the chippy and ordering ROCK & CHIPS or seeing ROCK SALMON on the board? Yep… you’re in very familiar territory! 😏 Huss has gone under several different names over the years, but Huss is the name you’ll see it under on our counter today.

It’s a cracking fish too — firm, meaty and absolutely brilliant battered, grilled, pan-fried or thrown on the BBQ. So before you say “I’ve never tried Huss…” you might just have! 😂

Then there’s our gorgeous JIGGED SQUID 🦑😍 Caught by jig rather than dragged up in a trawl, and in weather like this it barely needs messing with — hot pan or BBQ, garlic, lemon, few minutes and DONE. No squidding around in the kitchen all night when it’s this warm! 😂☀️

And those SARDINE FILLETS… 🤤🐟 They’re practically begging for a BBQ. Skin-side down, little olive oil, lemon and seasoning and you’ve got proper summer food without turning the kitchen into a sauna. Sardine to believe we could make a heatwave taste even better… 😂🔥

And that’s before you’ve even got to the tuna steaks, salmon, cod, trout, brill, plaice, mackerel, prawns, crab, oysters and the rest of today’s haul sitting lovely and chilled on the ice. 🦐🦀🐟

So while Burnham’s heating up… we’ll keep the fish cool and the seafood ideas coming. 😎🧊

🚨🐟 THE DAY WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR… TUESDAY HAS LANDED! 🐟🚨

Monday gave us the little teaser… but THIS is why Tuesday mornings hit differently at Seafoods! 😍 Our boats have been back out, the first fresh delivery of the week has landed and just LOOK at that counter. 🤩🧊

We honestly don’t know where to start today! The hake are phenomenal, there’s chunky white cod fillet, gorgeous monkfish, whole brill, lemon sole, megrim sole and plaice, beautiful trout and both farmed AND wild bass sitting pretty on the ice. 🐟🔥

And then there’s that TUNA 😳❤️ Those steaks are almost too pretty to sell… almost. 😂 Add in those great big salmon sides, sardines, huss and enough choice to make deciding what’s for tea considerably harder than it was five minutes ago!

But it’s not just the wet fish having its moment today… 🦐🦀 We’ve got XL wild prawns, crevettes, scallops, mussels, dressed crab, crab claws, cockles, whelks, brown shrimp, crayfish tails, mussel meat, samphire and plenty more seafood goodies tucked around the counter.

Basically… Monday whispered. Tuesday has walked in and made a right splash. 😂🌊

And remember, being proper fishmongers means you don’t have to know what to do with a whole fish before you walk through the door. 🐟 MONDAY… BUT MAKE IT SEAFOODS. 🐟

No fresh market delivery today? No problem. 😏 Monday is the smallest counter of our week — that’s simply how day-boat fishing works. No weekend landings means no Monday market delivery, but small certainly doesn’t mean boring! 👀🐟

We’ve still got plenty sitting pretty on the ice, alongside smoked favourites, rollmops, pâtés, cockles, prawns, crab pate, smoked salmon pate, shellfish and more… and the lobster tank is looking VERY lively 🦞😂 Those beauties are certainly making themselves at home!

Meanwhile, the important bit is happening out at sea… the boats are back out fishing today. 🌊⚓ What they land becomes the start of our fresh counter tomorrow, and from then it’s fresh deliveries right through until Saturday. We work with what the sea gives us — and that’s exactly how we like it. ❤️🐟

Monday is also the PERFECT day to get those orders in. Fancy something particular this week? Whole fish for the BBQ, turbot, brill, lobster, crab or something a little unusual? Tell your fishmongers and we’ll get hunting! 🎣

⚒️🐟 HAMMERS UP… FISH SUPPER UP! 🐟⚒️

Well, there’s a certain fishmonger in a VERY good mood this Sunday… 😂 After last season, we’ll take this one! West Ham kicked off with a win in the first round of the Carabao Cup last night, so Ryan’s got his Hammers swagger back already. ⚒️⚽️😂

Anyway back to the fish …. 😂 while there’s no fresh delivery on a Sunday, there’s still a lovely little selection of wet fish sitting pretty on the ice — what’s here is here until it’s not! 🐟

And that smoked section is looking dangerous too. Kippers, smoked haddock, smoked mackerel, pâtés, herring, brown shrimp — plenty for a proper lazy Sunday feast. 🐟🦐

If cooking feels a bit too much like hard work today, the cooked counter has you covered too… prawns, cockles, crayfish, whelks and all the good stuff ready to go. 😋

So apparently the future’s looking claret, blue… and slightly fishy this morning. 😂⚒️🐟

We’re here today till 3pm keeping those summer Sundays going, so pop in, say hello and congratulate Ryan on a win he personally contributed absolutely nothing towards. 😂😂

🚨🐟 SATURDAY HAS ENTERED THE CHAT… AND GOOD GRIEF, LOOK AT THIS COUNTER! 🐟🚨

We’re not sure where to start today… although the massive Cornish tuna head staring everyone down from the ice is making a fairly strong argument. 😂 After the incredible response to our UK-caught tuna, we couldn’t resist giving him pride of place — because when something this special comes through a fishmonger’s door, you SHOW IT OFF! 🇬🇧🐟

But don’t let big fella steal all the limelight because today’s counter is an absolute beauty. 😍 Those Scottish salmon fillets are just ridiculous — thick, glossy and beautifully marbled. The trout are looking absolutely sublime again, the grey mullet are crackers, and just LOOK at that run of mackerel… proper summer fish and about as fresh-looking as it gets. 💙

Then you start spotting everything else… brill, skate, monkfish, cod, haddock, squid, oysters, crevettes, swordfish steaks, tuna steaks, smoked fish and those gorgeous big prawns. There’s enough inspiration on that ice to turn “what are we having for tea?” into a much harder decision than it needed to be. 😂

And we have to give the huss a mention too — something a little different for anyone who fancies trying a proper traditional bit of British fish. Ask us how to cook anything you see; that’s half the fun of having a proper fishmonger. 🐟❤️

This is what we LOVE about summer. ☀️ The boats are fishing, the catches are varied and every delivery can bring something completely different through our doors. We never quite know what we’re going to get… and apparently lately the answer is VERY LARGE FISH. 😂😂

We can fillet, skin, portion or steak your fish exactly how you want it, and if you’re heading home from your holidays we can vac-pack it and ice it for the journey too. 👌
