Studio space available to rent on our communal farm in Dundry.

- Block built, self contained 5x6m space with concrete floor and ground floor single door access.
- Large bench and drawing table provided
- Rain water & outdoor tap supply (can plumb in a sink with the rain tank if needed)
- Secure parking space
- Single phase electrics (with 3 phase to be added in the near future)
- I run an on site professional wood & metal workshop, and my partner is a set designer with her studio here as well, so you won't be alone!
- Beautiful views over the land and Bristol
- Can be shared by two people
- 8am - 8pm use (this is flexible, just needs to be talked about)

As it is a working family home, it is important that we find the right people for this space, but I think it's perfect for a ceramicist, sculptor, maker, or painter alike.

We're open to offers and arrangements, so tell us what could work for you and we can go from there.

A bit of backstory for these next ones... Working alongside , we were tasked with creating sculptures to add some colour and history to the grounds of Llanthony Secunda Priory .

Ellie did a cracking job illustrating characters found in the archives and making a map to guide you around the pieces dotted about the site.

Our job was to CAD design, cut, paint and install. There was everything from a monk bench, to a lamprey pie to work out how to build and make strong and simple enough for public installation. A nice design, that months later, has stood the test of time.

Well, here we have it, the grand reveal...

'Arnold' art cart, ready to be the basis of some up and coming workshops in by .

Let's run through some features.

18 small storage drawers for equipment and materials on the front, with 3 x A3 paper stores underneath and 5 x clips up top for instruction or reference holding. An ever changing design for the fronts, but each drawer is unique in colour or slant.
3 x large pull out bins on the rear, and the bottom edges of two slanted worktops, each with a safe edge to stop an art based over-spill. Mounted metal rotary sharpener on the top corner and plenty of variable storage options for pens, pencils, scissors an rulers on the top too.
One side has a further worktop that doubles up as a pull handle for manoeuvrability, and can pivot up or slide in and out to suit requirements. The other side dispenses rolls of paper up to 30m long and features the face of the whole endeavour.
4 silent locking castors finishes things of nicely, and for belts and braces, the whole piece has had some 6 layers of coating including fire retardant finishes to meet Euroclass fire regs.

If a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing well.

Skipping gleefully past the sanding (two days of it), we move on to the painting. Taking a little inspiration from and old Bauhaus toy, all of the many drawers on the art cart can be rearranged to form patterns in colour. Some neat masking going on to get things sharp.

Final reassembly and tweaks, alongside some sanding and prep work for the newly named 'Arnold' (the art cart). Always satisfying wrapping up the build stage and getting it all together and working. Alas, here comes the sanding stage of which I'll spare you the tedium...

Carrying on a style through the rest of the features keeps the hands happy. Also attempting to squeeze as much function as possible into small additions, so here we see the understructure of a hinged shelf with a hidden pull handle inset. All good fun.

Details, details. With the dump bin stops and main axle in, everything's now ready to test and check (slamming, jumping up and down on it, thinking like a kid). More features getting added here too, nearing completion of the fabrication stage.
