We hope you had a lovely Christmas. Ours was the busiest we have had for many years! Two became 10 for several days, which was a shock to the system and took a lot of planning. Now, to be honest, the house feels quite empty.

So, it’s time for us to officially close the door on 2025. This year has been something of a rollercoaster for our little business—from navigating new guidance on fragrances to supply chain hiccups & finding new markets, it hasn't always been easy, in fact, at times it has been touch & go for us as it has for many of our small business friends but thanks to you, we have survived!

This is a heartfelt “Thank You!” to you all for every purchase you have made, every recommendation you have made & every review you have written. Thanks to you we are now rated "Excellent" on Trustpilot! Your continued support means the world. 

Small businesses, like ours live and breathe on the loyalty of their customers, and you’ve kept our candles burning quite literally. Every purchase is appreciated more than you can ever imagine.

Looking ahead to 2026 we have some incredibly exciting things to come - new scents that we hope you will love and a few surprises we’re keeping under wraps for now.

Unfortunately I am the bearer of bad news. I know some of you are aware that there are changes afoot for our reed diffusers.⁠
⁠
On 1st October 2025, the IFRA 51st Amendment comes into effect and introduces new restrictions for diffusers on the use of certain fragrance ingredients due to updated safety standards. ⁠
⁠
What this means is that some of our fabulous fragrances must be reformulated or discontinued. As our supplier is not reformulating Cassis & Fig and Rock Salt & Driftwood we are having to discontinue these in diffusers & refills. We will continue to have them available as room sprays, candles & melts for the foreseeable future.⁠

At the moment we have a blend of Lemongrass & Ginger that continues to comply with the new regulation. Once this has been used, this will also have to be discontinued I'm afraid. Luckily we have quite a lot at the moment.⁠

Cassis & Fig and Rock Salt & Driftwood will be available to buy until end September with a 10% discount. Find them in our "Last Chance to Buy" on our website.⁠

Don't miss your last chance to buy these classic scents before they're gone for now. We say for now as there is another change coming into effect late next year which could see these once again suitable for us in diffusers!⁠

My word for the month of May from was strength, and wow, did I have to embrace it. May was a challenging one. I had to push myself to believe my health issues shouldn't prevent me from doing some things I knew should be done. I did them, but it took me pretty much all of last week to recover!

There were moments like most months when I felt like throwing in the towel, but something within me kept pushing. Maybe it was having that word in the back of my mind. I've had to dig deep, draw on reserves I didn't even know I had, and remind myself of my ability to take it on the chin & bounce back. It hasn't been easy, but I'm proud of how I've coped... eventually.

May was a powerful reminder that true strength isn't just about physical power or outward success; it's about the grit, perseverance, and unwavering spirit we find when things get tough. It's about showing up for yourself, even when you'd rather hide.

Sometimes you find strength in unexpected places and for me lne of those was finding this on Friday evening in my inbox, from a lovely returning customer. It made my week and spurred me on to keep turning up.

Here's to keeping on finding strength in unexpected places and rising above whatever challenges come our way.

My word for June is commitment. That's another story.
