Hi all, it's time for Adaptatrap to adapt again. We've had an absolutely wonderful journey in our almost 32 years in the shop, but it's time to hand over.

We are delighted to announce that one of our oldest and most trusted suppliers, Siesta Crafts, will be stepping in from mid-June. As well as an excellent range of instruments, they will be bringing their beautiful Fair Trade goods from around the world.

The shop will keep the same knowledgeable staff, will still be supplying handmade koras, and will be continuing with drum repairs. Siesta are keeping Adaptatrap as an active presence both in store and online, so do stay with us here for the next chapter — and you can follow
Siesta Crafts for the wider story.
We're sure Siesta will be a great addition to the North Laine, and we thank all of you for sharing the journey with us so far. We look forward to seeing you in the shop in its new chapter very soon.

Heartfelt thanks from all at Adaptatrap.

Hi all, a special welcome to Brighton to everyone involved in The Great Escape Festival. We will be staying open an extra hour today to give everyone an extra chance to come and check out our unique selection of instruments, and we have a 20% off sale on all Hohner melodicas and harmonicas. If our local friends can spread the word to any festival visitors that would be much appreciated, thanks .

Hi all,it's a lovely sunny day in Brighton, and we are very happy to welcome back the Children's Parade in it's physical form at last. It's always a delight to hear and see all the drummers in town, and celebrate our small but vital part in making it happen historically. We will be open an hour early today to mark the occasion, and will be doing a discount all day for anyone involved in the parade. Big love to all teachers, kids, parents and carers involved, you are all part of what makes Brighton special, and we love and respect what you do .

As an independent business, and with covid cases still rising exponentially in our area, we will continue to encourage the use of masks and physical distancing while visiting the shop. We also request that you use the provided hand sanitiser and ask before handling any instruments. The comfort and safety of our customers and staff is of top priority to us. Our staff are making individual choices around mask wearing, if you would prefer them to wear one during your visit please let them know, and they will accommodate that during your time here. We aim to make the shop a welcoming and safe space for everyone who visits. We hope that you will understand and respect our position on this and we look forward to helping you choose something marvellous to help on your musical journey. Thanks from all at Adaptatrap for continuing to support us during these difficult times.
