This Saturday the 3rd of December we will be at State Hall, Station Road, Heathfield town Centre. 9am- 1pm. Selling our magical fairies, elves and mermaids, as well as fairy dust and other fairy themed stocking fillers! We can't wait to introduce the fairies to the people of Heathfield!🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️

Here we are at the start of July, it will be Christmas before we know it! I have picked up my felting needles again to start getting our ever popular Christmas tree mushrooms started. 🍄 Last year I started late and couldn't make them fast enough!
As well as my trusty mushrooms, I have been experimenting with birds, starting with a budgie for a family member but I think a Christmas robin is next on the make list. I have also been working on some Fraud inspired imps and fairies and I really hope there will be a couple of those to spot amongst our fairy family on our Christmas stalls! Keep an eye on our stories to see some sneak previews 🧚‍♀️

Today is National Best Friends Day so here's a pic of me and Carina painting festival scenery together. We met 12 years ago volunteering to make decor for festivals, going on to run our own venue with some other besties, then eventually setting up our little magical shop 💖

Hey lovely followers 👋 I'm Rachel and I am one of the two creators behind The Gnarly Trunk. I wanted to show my face as I am The Gnarly Trunk's social media person, so most of what you read here is from me and many of you have started following us since our physical shop days.
The Gnarly Trunk is a second business for both me and Carina and the majority of the time I am a designer, mostly working on traditional hand painted signs and custom branding for small business.
Growing up on a farm, I have been a big lover of nature and hung out with fairies since I was a little kid. Since the pandemic I have enjoyed deepening my connection to both through gardening and witchcraft.
I love using design to spread magic and have lots of ideas for new products to develop in the coming years.
For now I am happy to be part of sharing the Gnarly Trunk magic with our gorgeous letterbox fairies, elves and mermaids all year round and creating small batch crafted collections for Christmas markets and fairs (finally accepting that not all goals can be completed in a single year)
