Positive East’s mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals and communities affected by HIV.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to make that mission a reality for everyone who uses our services. Last year, we supported 894 people living with HIV to access holistic wellbeing support.

Together we're creating a future where living with HIV no longer brings barriers to health and happiness, but we're not done yet. We will continue to work hard towards a world free from HIV stigma, where there are no new HIV transmissions and where no one is left behind in the fight for health equality and inequity.

Last week, actor and writer Stephen Hart presented his one man show Shadowed Dreamer, at the Lantern Theatre in Kemptown.

The show is Stephen's own remarkable and profoundly moving story, so powerful and sometimes shocking that on occasion there were audible gasps from the audience. The performance also included a number of humorous anecdotes, to balance what was being shared.

It was a privilege for us to be in audience for the show and an honour to have been invited to hold a collection after each performance, which raised more than £200 in aid of The Sussex Beacon.

Our heartfelt thanks again to Stephen, to designer David Fray and to everyone who kindly supported the Beacon over the two nights 🙏.

Brighton & Hove Pride Saturday and Sunday at Preston Park - Lunch Positive has our pop - up food stall, delicious food and drinks, fast service and all staffed by our amazing volunteers! Every pound we raise will go directly to providing our HIV community services for the year ahead. Our charity supports the community every week of the year, helping hundreds of people. If you're going to Preston Park at Pride please come and get your food from us and make a huge difference to people's lives at the same time! SATURDAY AND SUNDAY - NEAR THE CLOCK TOWER 😊

This is a reminder that Kemptown Village Community Pride takes place from Thursday 30th July through to Sunday 2nd August, at St. George's Church and Commmunity Centre. Now we know there are lots of people out there who love to sing. You really don't need to be amazing. If you enjoy simply having a go, singing your favourite tune or two to an appreciative group of people and you have some free time on Sunday 2nd August, the Kemptown Village Community Pride Open Mic Day is for you!!
