I had a super time at The Literature Laboratory on Saturday. It was a drizzly morning and the first day of half term, so a lot of people (especially children) were still tucked up in bed. But that didn’t dampen my spirits. Hay itself is such a friendly community… I was offered help with my author trolley twice on the short (but hilly) walk from the car park to the bookshop. And the Literature Laboratory itself is such a BEAUTIFUL bookshop, full of hidden corners and packed with all number of treasures! In the few short hours that I was there, I met some lovely parents, grandparents, and young readers, including Marlow (who joined in with my activities and designed half a dozen book covers in no time), Willow (who was delighted to see that the main character in my latest book shares her name, and whose brother recently met me on one of my school visits), and someone whose name sadly escapes me (whose teacher is currently reading one of my books to the whole class). Thank you, Rebecca, for inviting me to your absolute gem of a bookshop. I can’t wait to do some school visits with you in July! And thank you to everyone who purchased a copy of WARNING: Magic Can Be Dangerous! or WARNING: May Contain Dragons. I hope you enjoy my stories!!!
