Wreath Making workshops always sell out quickly, so act quickly to book onto wreath making at Braintree Town Hall on Saturday 5 December between 2-4pm.

Gather your friends and enjoy a festive DIY Christmas Wreath making workshop in the beautiful surroundings of Braintree Town Hall for £26 per person.

- All wreath-making materials provided for a 12 inch wreath
- Basic step-by-step instruction and guidance

CAR AND BIKE SHOW AT BRAINTREE AND BOCKING PUBLIC GARDENS

The annual Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens Classic Car and Bike Show returns on Sunday 6 September.

Running between 10am and 4pm, you can enjoy 100 fabulous classic cars and motorcycles, mixture of live music and singer throughout the day, talented local traders, delicious food options and a licensed bar - all for just £5 on the door!

Under 12s FREE!

⛔️No dogs are permitted in the Gardens, other than assistance dogs on leads.
⛔️No glass or alcohol are to be taken into the gardens.
⛔️Large pond in the lower part of the Gardens. Children to be supervised at all times

WITHAM SUMMER FAYRE THIS WEEKEND! 😎🌞🌻

Witham Town Council is hosting a Summer Fayre THIS Saturday 22 August!

This brand new free event is being held on the River Walk between Bridge Street and Maldon Road.

It will feature 80+ stalls, fun games, local artists, mobile zoo, children's entertainer as well as a cake competition and biggest vegetables competition for Witham residents.

If you're looking for a fun summer fair to enjoy, be sure to mark this on your calendar.

WHITE NOTLEY DUCK RACE! 🦆

The 21st annual White Notley Duck race is taking place on Sunday 30 August!

The charity event sees rubber ducks released from the drop off point behind the village hall and finish at the ford in Station Road. The ducks race down the river Brain for about a mile before they are collected at the ford.

You can buy ducks on the day or speak to a member of the White Notley Duck Race Committee to get yours before race day.

There is a great selection of prizes in the duck race for participants to win and it offers a great family day out with a BBQ and live music at the .whitenotley after the race.

ONE MONTH TO GO! SAVE THE DATE!

The famous Witham Street Entertainment Festival is just a month away and is set to take place on Saturday 19 September!

This annual festival is held in the town centre with acts performing in the Newlands Shopping Centre, the Grove Shopping Centre and in Newland Street itself, where they close the road between Collingwood Road and Maldon Road.

Enjoy a whole host of street entertainment that is fun for all ages.

One of Essex's most unique and entertaining village traditions is back as the Finchingfield Three-Legged Race returns this September, promising a day packed with fun, laughter and community spirit.

Hundreds of visitors are expected to descend on the picturesque village to watch competitors in fancy dress splash through the famous village pond before racing to the finish line, all while raising money for local youth charity FinCHE.

The Finchingfield Three-Legged Race takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026 on The Green, Finchingfield. The event runs from 12pm to 5pm with the children’s race starting at 14.45pm and the main race starting at 4pm. Entry is free for spectators and everyone is welcome.

Throughout the day enjoy food and drink, stalls, raffle, dog show, duck race and a prize for best dressed dog!

Active Braintree Foundation and Kinder Essex are hosting a Teddy Bears Picnic at Cressing Temple on Wednesday 26 August from 11am to 3pm.

The event is free entry and everyone is welcome - bring your favourite teddy bear and a picnic! They'll be gentle fun games for everyone to enjoy.
