So this year, there will be 4 categories in terms of winners. 1st place is going to be longest bass overall, 2nd place will be 3 longest bass combined, 3rd place will be for second longest bass, and of course there will be a junior category (U16). Sign in starts at 10:00/10am. Entrants can leave The Pelcomb Inn at midday (12:00/12pm) on Friday 12th June 2026 to commence fishing, the tournament ends on midday (12:00/12pm) Sunday 14th June 2026, the deadline for declaring any fish caught will be at *14:00/2pm* on Sunday 14th June, all fish need to be presented to the judges at the venue for verification, the fish needs to be clearly photographed on an appropriate measure with the card you will be issued with at the sign in and needs to be clearly visible on the measure and judges need to be able to see the length of the fish (nose to tail), if you are unsure then examples of this can be given on request prior to the tournament. No blurry photos or videos will be accepted nor will any fish on an uneven measure, which is always difficult, when getting to a mark or area I advise that you find the best surface possible, and plan ahead before fishing, from personal experience trying to find somewhere appropriate to measure a fish while its thrashing around and at night can be very difficult and isnโt good for the fish. I would also advise securing your card to a lure box or something similar just in case the conditions arenโt great.
The rules are as follows, as always the boundaries are from Poppit Sands (North Pembs) to Amroth (South Pembs) including the haven and the Cleddau estuary. Out of bounds areas remain the power stationโs hot water outlet and any MoD range areas that donโt allow public access.
We do not provide any equipment needed to participate in the tournament, so please make sure you come prepared to fish the tournament effectively.
This is also a C&R tournament.
Also it is shore and lure only, no use of kayaks, paddle boards or any floatation aids is permitted, if you canโt wade to the mark then itโs out of bounds. Looking forward to seeing some new faces in June as well as the familiar faces of regular attendees.
