Going to an event alone can feel daunting, especially when networking isn’t something that’s ever really been part of our industry
In the corporate world, networking events, conferences and meeting new people are just part of the job
But in aesthetics and beauty, our ‘pink collar’ careers have never had this ‘built in’!
So many of us work alone
We’re self employed, we don’t have a huge team of colleagues around us, and sometimes we don’t even have friends or family who understand what it’s actually like to run your own business, let alone run it in the aesthetics industry
Who do you talk to about the client situation you weren’t sure how to handle?
What’s working on social media?
How are you preparing for regulation?
What treatments are worth the money and what was a total waste of time?
Sometimes you just need a pep talk from people who actually 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘵
And yes, walking into that room alone can feel uncomfortable. I’ve done it myself. But the best connections I’ve made have come from going to events on my own, sitting next to somebody I didn’t know and starting a conversation
