The Spark Developments Clubsport Mini will be on display at this weekend’s Mathewsons Live, at the rally stage.

The spec of this car, loosely based on Mini Rally Challenge regs, was designed to be versatile enough to showcase a variety of grassroots motorsport.

Hillclimbs, rally sprints, autotests, 12 cars, rally TV camera car, course car duties later - it’s mission complete! ✅

If you want to chat about the Minis, Comp Safari, Rallycross, grass roots motorsport in general, or just want to join me in being a rally nerd - come and say hi!

We’ve been quiet… but definitely not idle! 🏁🔧

We’ve been a little quiet on the socials recently, but that’s only because the workshop has been flat out! 😂

A few of the latest jobs heading out of the workshop…

🏁 Eddie’s Mk2 Es**rt – back to its best following the RAC and ready to get back on the stages.

🏁 Cliff’s Mk2 Es**rt – back in action after a full Sherwood engine rebuild and a fresh gearbox. Plenty of work gone into getting this one ready to go again!

🏁 Nick Skeleton’s Mini Rally Challenge car – the R53 has been swapped over to an R50, with the car now prepped and ready to.

All three cars are now set and ready for Rally Yorkshire. 💪

It’s been a busy few weeks behind the scenes at Spark Developments Motorsport, but seeing the cars roll out ready for another rally makes it all worthwhile.

🏁 BALA BOUND! 🏁

After Otto’s little “don’t cut” moment last weekend at Pendragon, the R53 is back straight, repaired and ready to go again! 🔧💪

This weekend we’re heading to Bala for the Gareth Hall Stages, with another busy weekend ahead for the Spark Developments Motorsport team.

We’ve also got Catherine and Steph heading out, looking to build on their experience and improve their skill set on the tarmac. 🏁

And finally, Helen and Todd will be joining us — with it being Helen’s debut rally in an R50! 👏

Sometimes testing doesn’t quite go to plan… 🤦‍♂️🏁

Yesterday we headed out with Ste for some valuable seat time ahead of his first rally in the Fiesta S1600.

Unfortunately, the car didn’t quite feel right, and on the final run the rear stepped out, giving a bush a little kiss before coming to a stop.

Straight back to the workshop it went. The front end was stripped, the car thoroughly inspected, and replacement parts sourced.

The culprit? A seized rear anti-roll bar, which explained the unexpected handling and the little off.

Fast forward 24 hours, the car is back together, everything is working as it should, and it now feels absolutely mega. 💪

Huge effort from the team to get everything turned around so quickly.

Best of luck to Ste this weekend on his first event in the Fiesta S1600. No pressure… but we’re expecting to see a trophy! 🏆🍀
