Due to the owners deciding to retire, coupled with the fact the building we're in going up for sale soon, Bognor Bike Hub will be closing at the end of March.

We're proud to have been Bognor's only proper fully equipped independent bike shop with qualified mechanics and to have supported so many residents to get on their bikes and ride.

We're running a sale with 50% off most parts & accessories and 25% off bikes, so come and grab yourself a bargain.

Bike servicing and repairs will continue as normal until 5pm Saturday 30th March.

From April onwards, for future expert bike repairs and servicing, please contact either John Lloyd - The Local Spokes Man-Bike Repair and Rejuvenation in Rose Green or Russell - Cyclemandr Cycle Repairs who will the only remaining qualified bike mechanics in the local area.

If you've been good this year, you might be getting a new bike. However, bear in mind that if you've bought a bike online, often it's delivered all packaged up and requires building up.

If you want to ensure the bike is properly put together, with everything tightened to the correct level of torque, gears correctly indexed and parts greased which need greasing, then we're able to provide a comprehensive bike build (complete with checklist), typically £50 for a full size bike and £35 for any children's bike suitable for under 12.

Whatever your reason, we have a large & varied selection of pedals, to suit lots of different bikes, in a wide range of styles and colours in both the standard 9/16" and also 1/2" size spindles (yes, there are 2 sizes)!

We also have lots of smaller pedals, suitable for children's bikes, as well as folding ones for folding bikes.

You might have noticed it now gets dark earlier!

In the shop we have a wide range of front & rear lights, both battery powered and USB rechargeable, with prices from only £7.

We've even got rear lights that can sense you're braking and automatically get brighter, like a brake light.

Unfortunately we've had overflowing drains at the back of our building, which has flooded the rear workshop and storage areas behind the shop.

So there's possibly a bit of an added flavour to the usual oil & rubber smell in the shop! This should only be a temporary issue.

Normal servicing & repairs will continue unaffected.

As a not for profit, Community Interest Company, one of our main aims in encouraging local cycling, is to keep people going on their existing bikes where possible.

Not only does this save them money, but it means they don't have to get used to a new bike. Whilst you can never have too many bikes, it's nice to keep an old friend going.

Sometimes it does however mean we have to attempt the impossible. We have a top of the range wheel truing stand, and generally when we're building brand new wheels from scratch, or dealing with dings and wobbles caused by the bad roads, we try to get wheels running straight to no more than 0.3mm wobble.

On this occasion though, the wheel was too far gone. As we have over 200 new wheels in stock (stored in the back), we were able to fit a new wheel and get the customer back on the road within 45 minutes.
