This coming Saturday, Lauren is prepping one of the top requested pizza specials: cheeseburger-style topping!

Let us know in the comments what you might like to see on the pizza special board during the remainder of the season.

Our pizza dough is made fresh right here at the brewery, each week. Check out the snaps of various toppings from recent weeks too πŸ•

Ten years ago, a new brewery was officially incorporated on Companies House and it began life in a garage in Pitlochry... fast forward 3,652 days, it's now Perthshire's largest brewery and it remains locally owned and independent. Happy 10th Birthday Wasted Degrees!

Beginning with little more than a small homebrew kit, these days we're able to produce upwards of 29,000 litres every month and our beers have been sold in 13 countries, proudly flying the flag of where we come from and what we stand for.

This business has been built on hard work, sacrifice, challenges, successes, risk, joy and friendship.

Built without taking on collossal bank loans or money from 3rd party investors, Wasted Degrees makes its peace with slower, organic, but stable & sustainable growth. We brew with locally grown barley and green energy, we proudly contribute significant amounts of tax to the public purse, we've created full and part-time employment for ~20 local people and we've raised thousands for charity in collaboration with our community of supporters.

Where we are today is in no small part thanks to family, friends, community and a hard working team. Without you, we are nothing. You believe in us, support us and champion us: things we're ever grateful for and hold front of mind each and every day and in each decision we make.

And, with any luck, the next year will finally see us make a start on the construction of our new site, back in our hometown of Pitlochry, just a mile from where it all began back in August 2016.

What we've brewed is a drop; what we'll go on to brew is an ocean. Thank you for being a part of the first ten years.

Conall & Jack

Oooo, what's this? Something is coming out of these in the next few days... and it's not beer. Comfortably the most requested, non-beer product with a Wasted Degrees logo on it...

Stay tuned πŸ‘

Taproom - Saturday 15th: looking like a busy one. The pizza special this week is Hoisin Duck, slow cooked today by Lauren at the brewery. Lunchtime looks a tad more flexible for walk-ins, but please be aware that almost all tables inside & outside have bookings arriving in/around 18:00, so walk-in spaces will be limited at this time. The cellar is stocked, the fridges full and the fresh pizza dough has been made πŸ»πŸ•

What a day! A sincere, heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited us at our new pub in Perth yesterday or who wished us well from afar. It was standing room only for most of the day, we're so grateful to all of you.

We're a small, family owned business and a small team of enthusiastic people. Everything we do is very personal to us and every penny spent is hard worked for and saved for careful use. It is a huge thing for us to take on a pub lease, to take the time and to allocate limited resources to renovate, stock and to staff a new site. Thank you to all of you for choosing to spend time in the pub yesterday, for sharing & liking our posts and for wishing us well - it means a great deal to us.

And a special wee shout out to the brewery's taproom community, many of whom made the trip down from Highland Perthshire to celebrate the pub's opening. We're lucky to have such good friends.

The pub now begins its usual days and hours, beginning Thursday 6th August:
Thursdays 16:00 – 21:00
Fridays & Saturdays 12:00 – 22.00
Sundays 12:00 – 21.00

The very capable Fiona and Paige will be running the show in Perth, with some support from Conall and Jack over the coming weeks as we get the place up & running.

Please like & share, thank you.

It's time! The pub opens today: Sunday 2nd August from 15:00. Please read the important info below.

There'll be a short window in the hours prior where family, friends, suppliers and long time supporters of the brewery will be invited in beforehand. This is our way - Conall and Jack - of thanking these folk for the part they've played in renovating the pub, and for their contribution to the brewery's story and its community over the last ten years.

For those that know us particularly well, you'll probably realise that the pub opens just 14 days before the brewery's 10th birthday!

It's likely to be busy, judging by the enthusiasm online and the number of lovely folk popping their head through the door to wish us well these past few weeks. Just remember, it's a pub, not the launch of a new Playstation - there are no bonus points unlocked for getting in first or early πŸ˜‰

Look after eachother and please treat George Street like your own: we want to be a good neighbour and behave towards our neighbours as we'd wish others to behave towards us.

Please remember that we're surrounded by residential properties and other great local businesses too. If there's no room at the inn (pub), please don't congest the pavement with a queue out the door. There's also a bus stop in front of the pub, and there may be folk less mobile who need space to get along the street, so please consider others by taking a gander elsewhere for a wee while if the pub is full. Thanks in advance πŸ‘

After today, the pub then shifts to what'll be its usual days and hours next week, beginning Thursday 6th August:
Thursdays 16:00 – 21:00
Fridays & Saturdays 12:00 – 22.00
Sundays 12:00 – 21.00

The second most requested update on the Perth pub is here! Here's the fifth and final in the gradual drip feed of what you'll find to drink & eat at the Wasted Degrees Pub in Perth. Time for the beer & cider list!

After this, the next post you see from the pub will be the announcement of its opening...

Part 5: Beer & Cider
From the moment we open, you'll have 28 kegs on tap! This includes the four wines and two cocktails already announced. There'll be 20 beer taps and 2 cider taps.

Beer-wise, the focus is & always will be the beers we brew at the Wasted Degrees brewery in Blair Atholl. The full Wasted Degrees core range will be on permanently (Pilsner, Pale, Amber Rye, Atholl Gold) plus an ever changing line-up of our limited editions and special releases, usually an additional 15 beers annually. Over the last few months, we've even kept a hold of some particularly special kegs of beer for the Pub that have otherwise sold out at the brewery. On opening night, these include: West Coast IPA, Can't See The Wood For The Trees IPA, Blueberry Sour, 1870 Red, 80/- Shilling, Evergreen Amber spruce beer, Outlaw Stout, Barrel Aged Barley Wine and Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.

Did we mention that all Wasted Degrees beers are brewed with barley grown just 5 miles from the pub? This is beer brewed in Perthshire, made from Perthshire.

We'll have a handful of guest kegs on too, changing regularly, including the following on opening day: Gluten Free Williams Bros Joker IPA, Alcohol Free Jump Ship Jackstaff, Fyne Rook Nitro Stout and Shenanigans Pale, Origins Pinc, Vault City Hot Honey Apple Mango Sour and 3 Fonteinen Oude Lambic 2019 vintage.

And for the cider drinkers, we've sourced from two Scottish producers: Pictish from Cairn o' Mohr in Perthshire and a Scottish berry cider from Thistly in East Lothian.

From light and session, to malty, sour, dark or imperial strength barrel aged brews, you'll always find a broad range of options on tap and different kegs appearing regularly to keep things interesting.

Here's the fourth in a gradual drip feed of what you'll find to drink & eat at the Wasted Degrees Pub in Perth. Over the coming days we'll arrive at the grand reveal of the first beer list and then... the opening date will be revealed soon after!

Part 4: Let's talk scran. You won't go hungry at Wasted Degrees Perth, but we're not here to go toe-to-toe with restaurants.

It's a massive undertaking opening a new pub and we want to give ourselves and our team a chance to get the place open and running well. And with 28 taps, this isn't an ordinary thing to get up & running! So, for the first few weeks, we're not firing up the kitchen. Instead, it's high quality snacks for a few weeks until we find our feet: fancy French sharing bags of Bacon, BBQ, Curry Sauce, Honey Mustard and Tartiflette flavour crisps, not your everyday munch, plus familiar pub classics Scampi Fries and Bacon Fries.

Around the end of August though, we'll launch our hot dog menu, with six different topping options, as well as GF, Veggie and Vegan-friendly selections too.
