The forecast says we're in for a heatwave this week, and I couldn't be happier.

One of the things I love most about summer is the scents that seem to fill the air. For me, it's the smell of freshly cut hay, warm grass underfoot and long evenings spent outdoors. It instantly takes me back to carefree childhood summers.

As I spend this week in the workshop preparing orders and restocking products, it's made me wonder...

What scent reminds you most of summer?

Freshly cut grass? Roses in the garden? Sea air? Barbecues? Lavender? Something completely different?

Good morning from Bladnoch!

After a late night watching Scotland in the World Cup and a very wet day yesterday, it's lovely to wake up to some sunshine this morning.

It's been a busy week in the workshop, so I'm looking forward to a quieter weekend, some family time and celebrating Father's Day tomorrow. The weather forecast looks good for the weekend so I'm hoping to spend some time at one of the beautiful beaches here in the Machars.

Two years ago yesterday, I shared my very first social media post about Bladnoch Botanics.

At the time, I had no idea where the journey would lead. I had only recently launched the business, had no stockists, no hotel partnerships — just an idea, a lot of enthusiasm and a determination to create something special.

Two years later, the business has grown steadily, and importantly, at a pace that I can manage. This milestone has given me a chance to reflect on just how much has happened since that first post.

There have been plenty of challenges, lots of learning, and more than a few sleepless nights, but it has all been worth it.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the business over the last two years — whether you've purchased a product, stocked the range, recommended it to a friend, visited me at a market or simply followed along on the journey.

I genuinely couldn't have done it without you.

Two years ago yesterday, I shared my very first social media post about Bladnoch Botanics.

Tomorrow I'll be heading along to The Wigtown Market and hoping the weather is kind to us!

I'll have the full Bladnoch Botanics collection with me, including hand wash, lotions, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and diffusers.

Markets are always one of my favourite parts of running the business. It's lovely meeting customers face-to-face, hearing which scents or products they love and chatting to visitors to the area.

This week I've also been working on two new diffuser scents. One is inspired by woodland walks and the earthy, grounding scent of woods & forests after rain. The other combines fresh citrus notes with uplifting lemongrass for something bright, fresh and full of summer energy.

The weather forecast is looking rather promising for this weekend too... so far!

I'll be at The Wigtown Market on Saturday morning with the full Bladnoch Botanics collection and I'm looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and meeting visitors to the area. Markets are always one of my favourite parts of the business — there's nothing quite like chatting about scents, ingredients and hearing which fragrances people are drawn to.

If you're planning a visit to Wigtown this weekend, do come and say hello.

In the meantime, I'll be in the workshop blending, testing and refining these new diffuser fragrances.
