We've just listed a load of new little wood blocks, all at £3.95 each (as well as couple of sets of 3 for £8.95). Though these carved wooden stamps are traditionally used to make Indian block print fabric, they can also be used with batik wax to create a resist, or pressed into clay or polymer clay to emboss patterns.

Do we have any slow stitchers out there? We've been quietly amassing rather a lot of offcuts and remnants that are just too small to be worth selling as a single piece, but far too beautiful to be scrapped. Slow stitching seems to be the perfect way to make use of these!

I'd love to know whether this is something you'd be interested in, and if so, whether you'd like a mish-mash of colours or bundles curated by colour? Any other suggestions/feedback very welcome indeed!

Thanks to everyone who came along to in Mundford yesterday - what a lovely day it was! We hope you enjoyed yourselves, and came away laden with lots of goodies from around the world.

There's no rest for the wicked - Sean is back on the road later this week, taking the Textile Traders stall to Quilts UK in Malvern. We'll be there from Thursday - Sunday, so plenty of opportunity to come and top up your stash. Hope to see you there!

Stunning handloom ikat from Indonesia. The patterns, depth of colour and "shot" appearance are always more than we can possibly capture in a photo, but that doesn't stop us trying! Maybe it's time to give video a go...

This traditional Indonesian textile is woven using one of the most time-consuming techniques in the world, where the threads are carefully dyed before they even reach the loom! The result is those lovely soft, feathered patterns that machine-made fabrics can never quite replicate...

We source our ikat from Bali, where weaving skills are still passed down through generations. Lightweight, tactile and versatile, handwoven ikat is great for upholstery, cushions, bags, quilting and textile projects of all kinds. As always with genuine handloom textiles, no two pieces are exactly the same, and isn't that the charm of the real deal?!

Tomorrow we'll be back in Mundford from 10am - 4pm for World Textile Day East, and we can't wait!

We'll be trading alongside World Textile Day regulars The African Fabric Shop, Vanata Textiles and Susan Briscoe Designs, as well as welcoming two new traders - Fabric and Fibre Lao and Bryn Pratt-Boyden. We're also very happy to say that our old friends Bob and Magie (former owners of The African Fabric Shop) will be there too with African Vintage Textiles.

As always, entry to the exhibition and sale is free, but we also have a talk and a demonstration which are £6 each (or £10 for the two).

11am - Talk: Kawandi: quilts of the Siddi people of western India and southern Pakistan, with Bryn Pratt-Boyden.

2pm - Gujurati Mirrorwork demonstration and drop-in session, with Imogen Catling of Vanata Textiles.

We hope to see you at Mundford Village Hall tomorrow!

This week we finally restocked our fat quarter sets, and added a few new ones while we were at it.

Sean sourced some short runs of beautiful handmade batik while he was in Java over the winter, so we have two new batik bundles - one earthy, and one very bright! We've also added a new indigo set, and restocked all the others.

If you see something you like, don't linger - these sets are often made up of short pieces or remnants, and we are rarely able to restock the exact designs again!
