Calling artists, makers, artisan retailers and creative businesses!
This September, during Michaelmas Fair weekend in Bishop’s Castle (3–6 September), we’re exploring a new “Meanwhile Spaces” initiative, transforming vacant shops and windows into temporary creative spaces.
Michaelmas Fair is one of the busiest weekends in the town’s calendar, attracting visitors from near and far to enjoy markets, entertainment, independent shops, food, drink and festivities. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work to a wide audience.
We’re also thinking beyond the weekend. Our longer-term vision is Bishop’s Castle is Open — a town-wide celebration of open studios, shops, gardens and creative spaces, encouraging people to discover everything this thriving market town has to offer.
We believe empty shops can become opportunities. A pop-up shop, exhibition, workshop, installation or window display could be the start of something bigger, and we’d love to welcome creatives from both near and far to be part of it.
Right now, we’re simply gathering expressions of interest and exploring what’s possible.
Interested? We’d love to hear about your work and how you might like to get involved.
