To hijack a line from Stephen Tobolowsky in “Groundhog Day”: Watch that first month, it’s a doozy! January was rough ‘round these parts and I’ve been struggling to get my creative juices flowing again.

My attempt of the day: a super cute Floor Turtle & a couple of matching Countertop Critters made from an old bathmat, some rescued cotton poplin, and bits from my scrap basket. Between the dog’s muddy footprints and two kiddos insistent on pouring their own drinks, our kitchen floor is always in need of a little love. You never realize how much a liter of oat milk *is* until it’s all over the floor 🙄. And while our counters don’t get quite the same workout, there are always drips by the kettle and crumbs near the toaster so I really had no reason not to make the minis, too. 🙂

My tension is really off and rethreading didn’t fix it so I opened her up. My last project before Christmas was 20 sets of festive felt coasters. I think I could make whole extra coaster out of this trapped fuzz! Also now thinking I probably should have been wearing a dust mask to sew them 😷
