💚 The Morrisons Foundation 💚

Today the new website for The Morrisons Foundation has launched! Please check it out if you are a charity with a future project in mind.

Our Connecting Communities grants offer up to £20,000 to charities who provide placed-based services to our entire community or specific groups.
Funding is available to support capital projects that:
Breathe new life into local spaces: Upgrade and revitalise buildings and outdoor areas.
Bring people together: Reduce social isolation and foster a strong sense of belonging.
Secure the future: Ensure vital local services remain open and accessible for generations to come.

APPLICANTS MUST:

- Be charities registered with the Charity Commission England and Wales, OSCR, Jersey Charity Commissioner, Charities Register of Guernsey and Alderney or the Board of Charity Commissioners for Gibraltar.
- Own the property where the project is being delivered, or have a long-term lease with a minimum of 3 years remaining
- Have at least one set of accounts filed the relevant charity regulator.

WE CANNOT SUPPORT:

- CICs, charities with exempt/excepted status, or organisations that are not registered charities.
- Charities that promote religious or political messages
- Charities whose main purpose is animal welfare
- Charities who have filed their accounts late, had accounts marked as qualified within the last three years
- Charities who have received funding from us within the last two years

We are also providing the vaccination under a private paid service for those who do not fit the criteria but require the vaccine for occupational/travel purposes etc. Please feel free to contact our pharmacy team for advice or to book in.

🚲 Police Unity Tour 🚲

If you are at store around 10-10:30 today you will notice the wonderful members taking part in the annual Police Unity Tour. They are stopping off with us for a quick break.

Don’t forget to cheer them on whilst they take part in this 3 day tour raising funds for Care of Police Survivors 💙

This weekend, ten of our officers and staff are taking part in the annual Police Unity Tour, a three-day cycle to raise funds for Care Of Police Survivors (COPS).

Riding and training in their own time, the team will complete an 180-mile journey to honour fallen colleagues and support their families.

Alongside colleagues from police forces across the East Midlands, their route will take them through five counties, ending at the National Memorial Arboretum on Sunday, where they will be joined by cycling teams from forces across the UK.

Each cyclist wears a wristband bearing the name of a fallen officer, riding in their memory. At the end of the Tour, if the bereaved family is present, the wristband is handed over in a moment of reflection and remembrance.

The aim of the event is to show that those who lose their lives on duty, and the families who carry the burden of bereavement, are never forgotten.

💛 Paint it Yellow 💛

The baton is here!

For today only we have the paint roller for our Paint it Yellow fundraiser. This is being transported between stores all throughout the UK.

We have received it from Eastwood and I’ll be taking it to Derby later today.

Thank you to everyone who has donated during this month so far. We have already reached our £1000 target 💛

💛 Marie Curie Volunteers 💛

Thanks to the AMAZING volunteers we had in on Friday and Saturday we have reached our £1000 target for Paint it Yellow!

Friday they took £412.80 in cash and £36 on card
Saturday they took £322.76 in cash and £88 on card

This brings our total for the fundraiser to: £1038 🎉

We currently have a yellow hamper raffle running in store and I will be at the front of store Friday collecting for Marie Curie also.

💛 Paint it Yellow - Hamper Raffle 💛

It’s been awhile since I last did one but we currently have a yellow items hamper raffle in store!

To fit in with the Paint it Yellow theme this summer I have picked items that all have yellow packaging.

Tickets are 50p or £2 for a strip of 5.

Please collect from kiosk - cash and card can be accepted. Winner announced 23rd August!

💛 Marie Curie - Paint it Yellow 💛

Our BIG Paint it Yellow fundraiser is under way!

We have volunteers in today and tomorrow 10-6 collecting donations for Marie Curie. They will have collection buckets with them and also a card machine.

Thank you so all the volunteers who have dedicated their time doing this. also a big thank you to Tim who has organised everyone coming in.
