Things have felt incredibly heavy in East Belfast over the last few days, but we aren’t staying quiet about what matters to us.
Running a small business is difficult enough in the current climate, and recent events have brought a lot of worry to our streets. Most importantly, our hearts go out to Stephen and his family right now. We are thinking of them all.
To the wider Ballyhackamore community, please know that A Wee Token is, and always will be, a safe and welcoming space for everyone. If you have felt anxious, unsettled, or unwelcome recently: we see you and you belong here.
Belfast is a city of warmth, generosity, and incredible resilience. We’ve come too far to go backwards, and we refuse to let division define us.
Our community relies on diversity to thrive—nowhere is this clearer than in our health and care sector, which simply couldn’t function without the dedicated, diverse individuals who look after us every single day.
We stand with our healthcare workers. We stand with our neighbours. We stand with our community. Thank you to everyone who continues to make our wee corner of the city a brighter, kinder place. 🌿✨
