I hope everyone had a lovely Eid with their loved ones.
I know some families chose not to celebrate this Eid because of the number of family members they have lost during this vile gen0 c1de. It was a bittersweet day. Every time I felt a spark of joy, I would remember what other parents, children, and families have lost and how they are living. It's really really hard to celebrate when we know what is happening across the world and feel so powerless to stop it.
For my family, this was the first Eid al Fitr my baby celebrated out of hospital and so the day was all about making it special for the children. But I couldn't stop thinking about how many children have been orphaned and how many parents will be mourning the loss of their children.
I pray that our fasts, good deeds, and duas were all accepted this Ramadan. Especially those prayers for our oppressed brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers.
I pray whatever good we did, the desperate pleads with Allah for justice, the charity we gave, any ounce of good especially for the people of Palestine, I pray and pray we keep up the momentum until we see change and are victorious.
Ameen.
