A once in a lifetime opportunity! Well, sort of... we are in need of a SATURDAY PERSON!!
If you think that you'd make an excellent addition to our team, and would love to work for us, there a few things to bear in mind:
1) Knowledge of COMICS, MANGA, and BOOKS are essential. We do sell merchandise, but we are primarily a comic/book shop. We love the movies and the TV shows, but we focus mainly on the comics those shows are based on.
2) This role will require working Saturdays and possibly covering shifts over the holiday periods. If you're a student who goes back home for the holidays this won't be suitable. Flexibility on covering shifts is a plus.
3) It's not all about selling or chatting about comics! Like all retail positions you'll be required (in order of priority!) to make tea or coffee, run errands to the shops, take in deliveries, alphabetise and sort stock (a lot!), and post on social media about comics and relevant products.
4) It's important to be able to talk about the books you like and to listen to what customers enjoy before suggesting a book or series to them. Close Encounters has a friendly chatty environment and the ideal candidate will be able to fit into this.
Lastly, it's extremely important to be able to accurately follow written and verbal instructions!
