Who likes animal print? Why not make it a feature in your home like our wonderful Batheaston client?

Living in a small, period property, with an aged dog and painted stairs, she was worried about her dog slipping on the stairs now they were in their advanced years.

We discussed options and decided that a runner would be the best option. She spotted (excuse the pun) our newly arrived leopard print 2-ply polypropylene woven Wilton from one of our main suppliers.

The stunning carpet choice was fitted by Kevin, and though we say it ourselves, the end result looks great. The client loves the fantastic result so much that she wants to fit more elsewhere in her house.

Whether you want a statement carpet, a plain, striped carpet or something in between pattern-wise, Avonvale have an extensive range of samples to view in our Kingsmead Street showroom. If you'd rather make impact with vinyl or woodgrain, we do that, too.

Just off Kingsmead Square, we are on the left-hand side as you come up the steps from the car park, or the last shop on the right-hand side if you are walking from Kingsmead Square itself.

We have recently reorganised our extensive ranges into zones within the store to make it easier for you to focus on what you are looking for. Carpet, wood, laminate, and vinyl flooring are all displayed separately, as well as underlay, rugs and a bespoke stair display.

Our team is always on hand to answer questions and to help you choose the exact flooring to suit your project perfectly.

Whether our customers call us, visit our store, or when we visit their homes or workplaces, they always tell us that our service is excellent. We don't take that for granted.

This week is Mental Health Awareness week, and as part of that, the Mental Health Foundation organises a 'Wear It Green Day' today, 14 May.

Not everyone suits green, or you may have a set uniform, but why not consider a calming, nature-infused green coloured flooring for your next design project?

We have a range of plain, patterned and even tartan greens which would look aesthetically pleasing in every environment. Green has always been used by designers to provide a sense of calm, and it partners equally well with other greens as well as vibrant or muted contrasting colours, just as it does in nature.

On Monday only, our Kingsmead Street showroom will be open from 10am to 3pm. The wonderful Phil will be sharing his expertise with customers, as the usual team will be visiting the INDX Flooring Show.

'The' trade show for independent flooring retailers like us, it is our opportunity to see the next-generation of designs and innovations in flooring, so we can share them with you. Your design projects will be using in flooring.

We will also gain further insight into the entirety of the flooring market, meeting manufacturers and suppliers of carpets, rugs, laminates, woods, vinyl, LVT’s, underlays and accessories from across the UK and Europe.

We love the fact that there's so much beauty on our doorstep. In fact, with this gorgeous floor to ceiling image of Bath Abbey in our showroom, we don't even have to step outside to be immersed in its spleandour.

We often take inspiration from our gorgeous city when we source flooring for our clients. We know that you want a quality finish to your entire carpet fitting. We also know that not all homes and premises require wall to wall carpets.

That's where serging comes into play.

Serging is a premium finishing technique for carpet edges that wraps yarn continuously around the border, creating a thick, durable, and rounded rope-like edge. This is an ideal process to make rugs or for some stair runners, depending on how and where they end.

Often called whipping, this technique seamlessly blends into the rug, offering a more luxurious and tailored finish than the flat, fabric look of traditional binding.

Often used in open plan spaces where it's wonderful to show off traditional wood or tiled flooring, but you also want to have the luxury of carpet to zone areas, or perhaps you want your stair carpet to stand out by opting for a runner, as opposed to edge-to-edge carpeting.
