First time trying a hair system? Here's what happens

Trying on a hair system for the first time feels like a big step, so let's take the guesswork out of it.

First thing you'll notice: it's discreet. These are designed to look completely natural, not like a costume wig, so don't expect anything stiff or obvious.

You can change it easily too. One customer favourite is our summer hair system, which takes you from sun lounger to pool to dinner with just a quick headwear switch.

Worth knowing before you order: hair systems are made to order, so next day delivery isn't available on these. Plan a little ahead and you won't be caught out.

Headscarf slipping? Here's the fix

Nothing worse than a scarf that shifts every time you turn your head or bend down. It happens to nearly everyone at first, and it's usually down to how the scarf is anchored, not the fabric itself.

A few things that actually help:

Start with a 100% cotton scarf rather than silky or slippery fabric. Cotton grips better against skin and stays put through a full day.

Tie the first knot at the nape of your neck, not right at the top, and pull it snug before you tuck the ends. A loose first knot is the main reason scarves work their way backwards.

If you would prefer an easier fool proof deign we sell may styles that mimic intricate tying but are actually simple pull on and go styles. If security of your hat or scarf is your number one priority we also sell hats with wired scarves which will not move!

If you'd rather have someone show you in person, look good feel better offer a free service for anyone dealing with hair loss from cancer treatment: trained volunteers talk you through tying methods and let you try pre-tied scarves and turbans, no pressure at all, and you get a free cotton scarf to take home.

Fancy a swim but worried about your hair (or lack of it) getting in the way? You're not alone, and there's a proper solution for it.

Our gym and swim wigs are made with an enclosed lace cap, so they sit securely and comfortably even when you're moving around in water. No slipping, no faffing about mid-lap.

They're made to order, so if you need a custom size, just send us your head circumference when you order. Custom sized pieces can't be returned, so it's worth double checking before you buy.

You can pair yours with headbands (95% cotton, 5% Lycra) or accessories like sun visors and gym wig hats, all sold separately. Just leave your headband colour preference in the notes at checkout, otherwise we'll pick one for you.

Fringe wig or full wig? Here's how to choose

Not sure whether you need a fringe wig or a full wig? It usually comes down to how much of your own hair you've still got and how much styling freedom you want.

Fringe wigs are brilliant if you've got some hair left and just want extra coverage at the front. They can be worn straight off the packet, cut into a full or side fringe, tucked into headwear, or left loose to blend with what you've got.

Full wigs make more sense if you're after complete coverage, whether that's human hair or synthetic, and want something you can style however you like day to day.

Either way, you don't have to figure out the cutting and styling yourself. We can sort it for you, or you're welcome to take it to your own hairdresser or wig stylist.

If it's for the gym or swimming, we'd point you towards our made-to-order gym and swim wigs instead, as these are built with an enclosed lace cap for comfort during activity.
