MAGPIE , supporting communities in the North East of Scotland. Magpie is a charitable social enterprise that sells good quality second-hand goods and directly reduces the amount of waste going

to land-fill. We encourage a more environmentally-friendly Aberdeenshire by promoting re-use and recycling. Magpie also helps those in real need by providing free furniture and household goods to those referred to us. We also provide a whole range of volunteering opportunities and couldn't exist without our excellent team of volunteers.

Reuse.... not recycle? ♻️

Have you noticed that at Magpie we talk about rather than ? And did you know that when we talk about being , recycling isn’t always the first - or best - option?

That's because the best way to reduce waste is to keep products and materials in use for as long as possible. In Scotland, 98.7% of goods purchased are new, meaning only around 1.3% are reused. That’s the lowest reuse rate across the UK... and we want to change that!

Reuse means giving an item another life rather than throwing it away or sending it for recycling. Every pre-loved purchase you make here at Magpie helps keep a perfectly usable item in circulation for longer while helping reduce waste, supporting a reuse culture and making a positive difference to our environment! 💚

Got a mattress you no longer need? We’d love to give it a second life at Magpie! We can accept mattress donations as long as they are:

✔️ Free from damage
✔️ Free from severe stains
✔️ Have a fire safety label attached

Sadly a suspected incident of shoplifting occurred in our shop on Friday 7th August at approximately 3:30pm. CCTV images of the three females involved have been shared with the police.

As a social enterprise, every item sold helps us support our local community. We would like to remind everyone that choosing to support local organisations makes a real difference to the people and projects we serve.

Thank you, as always, to our wonderful customers, volunteers and supporters for their continued support, enabling us to do more across and beyond.
