Christmas is here!
It’s been another busy year at Roberts Instrument Repairs and I want to thank everyone for their continued support.
We are now closed until the 5th January.

After a busy few months, it’s time for our summer break. We will be closed until the 18th august. I want to thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to seeing you all when I’m back on the 18th.

So after a slight delay reopening after our Christmas break, I’m pleased to be back open and feeling a lot better. I want to thank everyone for their kind messages while I was ill and look forward to getting stuck in to 2025.

Unfortunately due to being signed off this week with a chest infection I won’t be able to open the shop until Monday the 13th. I was looking forward to getting back to it yesterday but sadly I’m not able to.
I’m still available for enquiries on phone or email. I’m looking forward to opening again next week and seeing everyone.

After another busy year at Roberts Instrument Repairs we are closing for our Christmas break.
We will open again on Tuesday January the 3rd at 12.00.

It’s Christmas!!
After a very busy few months Roberts Instrument Repairs is going to have its annual shutdown until the 4th January and enjoy a Christmas break.
I want to say a massive thank you to everyone for their continued support through these still very difficult times and want to wish everyone and their families a very safe and happy Christmas and new year.

Here’s another repair we had in for all you bass players out there!
We had this Japanese Fender precision lite come in needing some tlc. The electrics needed cleaning and the battery connector terminals needed replacing due to corrosion. It also needed restringing and a full setup.
We fitted the new battery terminal connectors and tightened all the loose pots before we cleaned all the pots with contact cleaner making sure they all functioned correctly with no crackles.
The strings were removed and the guitar was cleaned and the fret board treated with lemon oil to rehydrate it.
Once clean new Ernie Ball super slinky strings were fitted, and a full setup was done. This included setting the neck relief, setting the nut grooves to the correct depth and setting the action back to Fenders factory specs.
Once all the work was done the bass was tested fully and then returned to a very happy customer

We had a Fender/Gibson hybrid come in for a set up. With a Fender Telecaster body and neck and a Gibson Les Paul pickup set and stop bar and saddle it combined two classic instruments into one!
After cleaning the body and rehydrating the fret board with lemon oil I fitted some 10 gauge Ernie Ball strings. I then set the neck relief, action and intonation. With the pickup heights balanced I tested the guitar which played and sounded great.

Just want to let everyone know I’m going to be closed this week and enjoying another week off after a busy couple of months. I’ll be open again on Monday the 4th October. I’ll still be available via email or phone calls.

With all the craziness in the world, I can’t believe it’s been 5 years today that we have been open! In that time we have moved to new premises and witnessed a world changing pandemic!
Things seem to be getting back to normal with gigs happening again and I look forward to many more years looking after local musicians.
A big thank you for everyone’s continued support.x

Holiday time!
After a difficult and busy year I’m going to have a week off to recharge the batteries, so the shop will be closed from Saturday the 3rd July and will reopen on Saturday the 10th July.
I want to thank everyone for their continued support especially through these challenging times, and look forward to seeing everyone when I reopen.
