We Did It! 15 Miles, 3 Peaks, 1 Vital Cause 🥾⛰️

This past Saturday, our team members successfully completed the Sussex Three Peaks Challenge! It was a grueling but rewarding 24 km (15-mile) trek across the South Downs, conquering Steep Down, Cissbury Ring, and Chanctonbury Ring. Sadly the misty conditions did mean the fantastic views were slightly less scenic than usual at the start of the hike, but by the end the sun came out and it was beautiful!

At UK Drug Testing, this challenge was deeply personal. Our company has provided highly accurate testing kits to Turning Tides for the last seven years. These tools are a critical part of their Recovery Project, helping individuals facing homelessness overcome substance use and rebuild their lives

While 15 miles was tough, it’s a reminder that those experiencing homelessness often walk up to 11 miles every single day just to find basic essentials like food and shelter

Is your workplace drug policy ready for medical cannabis? 🌿

Since the change in UK law in 2018, medical cannabis has become a mainstream prescription medication. For HR and Health and Safety managers, this creates a complex intersection between the Equality Act 2010, which protects those with disabilities, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, which mandates a safe environment.

A "zero tolerance" approach that doesn't account for legal prescriptions could be interpreted as indirect discrimination. However, this does not grant employees a "license to be impaired" on the job.
