Most chunky chenille yarn suppliers will tell you their yarn is EN71 tested.
And technically? They’re not lying.

But here’s what they’re NOT telling you 👇

✋ EN71 testing is usually done on one token colour, not the whole range.
So if you’re making a pink bear with uncertified pink yarn… you’re not covered.

✋ EN71 alone isn’t enough. Your yarn also needs to meet REACH chemical safety standards. Most suppliers skip that part entirely.

✋ “EN71 compliant” ≠ “every colour has been individually tested.”

I knew I needed EN71.
What I didn’t know was how many suppliers were cutting corners.

So we’re doing it properly.
Every single colour in our Jumbo 7 range is being individually tested:
EN71‑3:2019+A2:2024 CAT3 + OEKO‑TEX® Standard 100 (REACH compliant).

Not one colour. All of them.
Certified yarn is coming soon.
