This is a difficult announcement to make, but one that has been on my mind for a long time. After much reflection, I have made the bittersweet decision to close Eleri Haf Designs.
For over a decade, this business has been such a significant part of my life. What began as a creative outlet during a time of severe illness grew into a thriving business, with my designs being sold in over 50 wonderful shops across the country. Eleri Haf Designs has been there through some of my most significant life moments, and it feels surreal to imagine life without it. Over the years, I’ve gained so many invaluable skills that I will carry with me into this next chapter.
That said, running a small business is not without its challenges. It has reached a point where it no longer brings me the joy it once did and has begun to take more of a toll on my health. Living with a chronic illness means I need to prioritise carefully where I dedicate my energy. For the past few years, all my energy has gone into this business, often at the expense of other things I’ve wanted to explore. While making money was never my primary goal, the financial challenges of running a small business have become increasingly difficult to manage. So, after much thought, I’ve decided it’s time to close my Eleri Haf Designs era and embrace a new one.
In the coming weeks, we’ll hold a *big closing down sale*. I’ll be offering my stockists the first opportunity to select from remaining stock, as I’m keen to support them and their wonderful shops as much as possible. (Stockists, keep an eye on your inbox for details!)
Whilst I feel sadness in saying goodbye, I also feel excitement and hope for what’s to come. I’m looking forward to developing my illustration skills, exploring new opportunities, and perhaps licensing some of my designs - you might just see them again in the future! 🤞
