32 countries. One alliance. Every member state on a single wall map. 🗺️

MapShop's NATO Map shows all 32 member nations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization on a large format poster, with each country's year of joining clearly marked on the map itself. It's a proper reference piece – not just a political overview, but a visual record of how the alliance has grown since those original 12 founding nations signed up in 1949.

The map has been updated to March 2024 and includes Finland (joined April 2023) and Sweden (joined March 2024), both of which joined following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. NATO's headquarters in Brussels is also marked, along with a brief history of the alliance's expansion.

Available in A2, A1 and A0, printed on satin paper for a clean professional finish with great colour and minimal glare. Whether it's going on the wall of a home office, a classroom, a boardroom or a government building, it works.

From £29 with free UK shipping. Printed to order in the UK.

Transport for London are giving away a framed A1 London Underground map - and today is your only chance to enter.

The Metro is running a competition in today's edition, and MapShop is proud to be the prize partner. Three lucky readers are in with a chance of winning a beautifully framed A1 print of the iconic TfL Tube map - a design that has barely changed since Harry Beck first drew it in the 1930s.

It is one of the most recognisable pieces of graphic design in the world, and honestly, it looks brilliant on a wall.

To enter, head to today's Metro newspaper or visit the link below. Entries close at 23:59 tonight.

There's something quietly brilliant about a child growing up with the Tube map on their wall.

It starts as a colourful pattern above the bed. Then comes the first question: "what's that one?" Before long they know their Bakerloo from their Piccadilly, can spot where Grandma lives on the Northern line, and are tracing journeys with a finger before bedtime stories.

The Official TfL Tube Map is one of the most iconic pieces of design in the world, and we offer it as a full custom-printed wallpaper mural, sized to your exact wall. If you'd rather have something you can move or update as they grow, our Sticki-Scape self-adhesive vinyl is the easier option.

Every print is generated from the latest map data by our cartographers and printed on demand in the UK, with free UK shipping. A feature wall that's part design classic, part bedtime adventure, part lifelong London love letter.

Ever wondered why Greenland looks the size of Africa on some world maps and a fraction of it on others? You're not imagining things, and the world's leading cartographic body has just weighed in on the great projection debate.

The International Cartographic Association published official guidance in February on choosing world map projections, and the headline is reassuringly nuanced. There is no single "correct" world map. Mercator isn't wrong, it's a brilliant navigation tool that preserves angles and direction, which is exactly why sailors have used it since 1569. But it dramatically inflates landmasses near the poles, making it a poor choice if you want to show relative country sizes. Africa is actually about 14 times bigger than Greenland.

Equal area projections like Equal Earth (developed back in 2018) or the older Gall-Peters preserve true area, so they're ideal for thematic maps showing population, climate or land cover. Compromise projections like Robinson and Winkel Tripel sit somewhere in the middle, balancing shape, area and distance for a pleasing all-rounder. National Geographic famously used Robinson for years before switching to Winkel Tripel.

The ICA's verdict? Choose your projection deliberately, based on what your map actually needs to do. There's no one-size-fits-all.

At MapShop we stock world maps in a range of projections including Robinson, Winkel Tripel, Equal Earth and Mercator, in styles that go from classroom-ready political maps through to physical relief, antique reproductions and contemporary designs. Whether it's for an office wall, a child's bedroom or a school classroom, there's a projection (and a style) that's right for the job.
