📮 POST OFFICE RETURNING TO ALEXANDRIA MAIN STREET 📮

Alexandria BID is delighted to announce that an essential service will be returning to Alexandria Main Street – the Post Office. 🎉

This is a significant milestone for our community and follows extensive work undertaken by Alexandria BID to bring this vital service back to the town centre.

📍 The Post Office will be located on Main Street within the former Dragon Fly unit, placing this important service back at the heart of our community.

🗓️ We are hopeful that the Post Office will be operational from August, providing a valuable service for residents, businesses and visitors alike.

The return of the Post Office represents a major step forward for Alexandria and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting and strengthening the town centre.

🤝 We would like to thank everyone who has supported our efforts throughout this process.

🚨 Warning to Local Businesses – Fake £20 Notes in Circulation 🚨

Alexandria BID has been made aware of counterfeit Bank of England £20 notes being used in local shops.

Please take extra care when accepting cash and ensure staff are aware of the signs to look out for.

💷 In the photo, the top note is the counterfeit note.

🔍 One of the easiest ways to check is the small hologram in the bottom left corner of the note:
• On a genuine £20 note, the hologram will change between “Twenty” and “Pounds” when the note is tilted.
• On the counterfeit note, the hologram displays “Twenty” only and does not change.

⚠️ We encourage all businesses to check £20 notes carefully before accepting them and to make colleagues aware of this issue.

If you believe you have received a counterfeit note, please follow your business procedures and report the matter to the appropriate authorities.

Vale of Leven Trust and Alexandria BID are exploring the possibility of bringing the building into community use — but we need to hear from you first.
