A great night last night at Oaklands Park Model Car Club in Birmingham.

In tribute to the 24 Hours of LeMans this weekend, we were given to the privelege to host a sponsered event and devise an 2 hour endurance race format whereby the winning team would recieve Le Mans themed cars from Slot.It.

A raffle prize was also given away of a Bburago 1:24 Scale Diecast Model of the Ferrari 499P, the car that won last year with ex F1 driver Robert Kubica making history as the first Polish driver to win the 24 Hour Race.

The turnout was good and the event was very much enjoyed by all who took part with some great spirited competiton. It was a genuine pleasure to host it and to give away some great prizes.

Congratulations to the winners, but we made sure that no one left empty handed with free pens and club member vouchers.

We would like to say thanks to all the members of the club for giving us friendship and a warm welcome over the past year. Special thanks goes to David Beeching and Stephen Rhodes for allowing us to take over the club calender for a week and lastly but not leastly Dave Warren for his help in setting up the event. The ethusiasm was greatly appreciated.
The french themed pasteries were well recieved. 😁.

This weekend is the 94th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
To pay tribute we have teamed up with Oaklands Park Model Car Club in Birmingham to do a 2 hour endurance race this Wednesday Evening 10th.
As it is a special event for the club we are giving away two Slot.it Cars for the winning team plus a raffle prize to win a Bburago Diecast Ferrari 499p.
Its going to be a French themed evening with refreshments availible.

We are competing as Father and Daughter we dont expect to win but we we expect to have great fun.

We have been given the kind permission to set the race format which will be as follows.

1. Each team consists two drivers. The team selection is either pre determined or made random. That can be agreed on the night.

2. Each driver must complete a 15 minute stint in each of the coloured lanes and cannot go more than two stints in sucession before changing drivers.

3. At the end of each 15 minute stint the cars are returned to the starting line to represent a pit stop.

4. The total race time is 2 hours per team. This is an endurance event remember. 😉

5. To make it fair as possible club cars are being used. Your own controllers are permited.

6. No Track calls are allowed if you come off or crash, the clock and the race continues to run. If a major mechanical fault occours with a car then it is the discretion of race control as to whether the race is stopped. A car failure affects all teams not just one.

We would like to thank David Beeching & Stephen Rhodes for their allowing us to do this and of course Dave Warren for his great support in the organising of this event.

This stunning 1:8 Scale Mercedes AMG GT3.
Consisting of 5466 pieces this officially licensed plastic kit brick is selling at a very nice price of £259.99 considerably less in price and identical sized bricks to the well known brand.

The set includes working lights, removable engine, branded rubber tyres and a pnuematic jacking system just like the race car.
