You could claim this rather fabulous edition of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (and a whole team of minions).

Dear Alexander was paid by the word which may explain why it stretches to 870 pages. Perfect beach read! You can also use it to weigh down your towel or build foundations for a small beach hut.

If you were looking for a reason to support your local indie bookshop this is it! 💚
Indie Bookshop week 2026 is here and runs from today Saturday 13 June to Saturday 20 June so get your pages turning and come on down! 🌿💚

Here in The Book Garden we have gorgeous nature, folklore and fiction galore. We also sell books on music, history, art & design as well as a whole Weird and Wonderful shelf where reality is constantly shifting. It is a veritable book treasure trove in here!

We are also giving away £5 National Book Tokens to our lovely local customers as part of High Five for Bookshops so do visit soon as we have a limited amount! Many tokens have already walked out the door! Yikes! Buy a book or two to get yours!
