Unique perspectives on Aberystwyth - and India - from Borth poet Maithreyi Hughes!

Maithreyi and her writer husband Rhys were guests of Ystwyth Books at the inaugural Indie Bookshop Festival at the weekend.

Her new poetry collection is hot off the press and in the shop.

Aberystwyth has been an inspiration for Maithreyi ever since she was hosted here in 2022 by Literature Across Frontiers and UWTSD on the Charles Wallace India Trust Fellowship.

This collection deploys humour, irony, myth and a fierce yet subtle political conscience to offer angles on Aberystwyth (in the section of 16 poems 'Borrowed Cardigan') and the world at large that can't be found elsewhere...
