Knitting beanies using Curl Cakes in shade 201 - Meadow.

This is a lovely soft dk yarn, available in loads of colours.

We picked up Seasalt, Butterscotch and Rosebud too at just £2.99 a 150g ball from the
store at Aberdeen Beach. So even better, the charity get money too 🙂. (It's a stock item)

Been a long time since I used circular needles so treated myself to a new set of symfonie 5.0mm.
They are so smooth (and colourful too).

Pattern from - so straight forward and loads of sizes to choose from.
Also includes links to some very good tutorial videos.

Second hat to come off this ball so far.... loving the calmness of it all.

Again these hats will be saved up until the end of the year and donated to charity.

Our charity pick for day 11/12 days of Christmas...

providing vital help, advice and comfort to those diagnosed with cancer and their families.

Offering everything from an ear to listen, therapies, workshops and accommodation, they are there for everything.

Knowing places like these are there if you need them can be a settling thing for those in this position.
A life changing situation made easier.

Charity 10/12 days of Christmas.

The first of two shares today... .

I was first taken here by my radiotherapy consultant Caroline. It was a bit of a 'welcome' visit to let me and my family see what Maggies was all about.

Every person we encountered was so calm, kind and caring. (Especially when I took a bad turn after marching myself down there straight after radiotherapy 🤦‍♀️)

We were all made to feel equally as welcome.

It's such a lovely layout, very relaxing.

J and I went back after all my treatment was finished for a LGFB (Look Good Feel Better) workshop.
The ladies holding the workshop were amazing.
They really do perk you up when, quite frankly, you're feeling cr*p.

If you're in the unfortunate position to need a service like this... please do reach out to your local Maggies.
It really is worth it.

CAMHS - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Aberdeen are based inside the old City Hospital, Links Road, Aberdeen.

There just aren't enough services like this in Aberdeen at all.

Personally, we've needed their services and they have been brilliant both times.
Kind, caring and professional.

They are our 9th cause on our 12 days of Christmas.

We wish services like this were more readily available.... they really are needed.

An appeal by one of our featured charities.
Somebody Cares Aberdeen are still in desperate need of more donations to help over 400 families this Christmas.
It's not too late to do your bit if you can

URGENT FOOD AND GIFT ITEMS NEEDED

This year we’ve seen a huge increase in people needing our support, with over 486 requests for help locally. That’s families and individuals right here in Aberdeen who are relying on food parcels and gifts to get through the winter.

Our volunteers are doing heroic things behind the scenes, packing parcels and sorting donations, but we’re now running low on some key items.

🛒 Food donations needed
If you’re able to help, we’re especially short of:

Tins of soup
Chilli
Tinned Mince and steak
Chicken in sauce
Other tinned meals

🎁 Gift donations needed
We’re also low on gifts for older children, particularly:

Ages 9–12
Ages 14+

Items like toiletries, games, and cosy Christmas treats would make a massive difference. Older kids and teens deserve something to open on Christmas morning too.

Our Amazon wishlists are still open. Even a few tins or a small toiletry set goes a long way in helping someone have a warmer, kinder Christmas.

Charity feature no.8.....

aberdeen are our 8th featured charity.

They're there for all the wee ones and their families at Aberdeen Children's Hospital all year, every year.

As well as providing support, play and comfort, the Archie Foundation also provide overnight stay for parents that need to stay with their children.

They also make sure that Christmas is as special as possible for any child facing it in hospital.
