Hello beautiful
How are you doing?
I can’t believe a full year has passed since my last post. So much has happened but at the same time I feel like it was just few days ago I was organising CS final sale. I miss the shop and its atmosphere but most of all I miss people. You. Chats. Hugs. Giggles. Gift wrapping. I have amazing memories.
I’m doing well, I’m learning a slower pace life here in Finland, I’m becoming a weaver, setting up my creative studio, returning to my roots I suppose. I recently had an exhibition so I thought I’ll pop in here to tell you about it - perhaps you’re interested? You can find the Virtual Tour in my account, first picture on my grid. Highlights albums has a lot of weaving and my other creative projects, and of course just life in general back at home.
I hope you’re doing really well. I’m grateful for all the support you showed me in Aberdeen. I miss you, of course I do. I hope I get to see you soon.

Return to Sender
Brexit, Boris, cancer, corona - enough is enough, I’m outta here 😂 This weekend 5-6th Sept 2020 marks my last weekend living abroad after 22 years of the most amazing adventures - it’s now time for me to head home. I’ll be at Park Shop this weekend in case you want to see me before I go, please prepare bad jokes and please avoid making things heavy. I’ve worn out my waterproof mascara by now and have only cheap runny stuff left.
Everything is well, there’s nothing to worry about, new chapter ahead is an exciting and positive one. All cancer treatment is finished, side effect are wearing off, my hair is growing back. My 2 year old nephew hasn’t got a clue what’s heading his way 😘 Here comes Auntie Tytti!
Park Shop continues its delicious and tasty business Wed-Sun as usual and Curated Stories Final Sale continues online. If you’d like to follow my repatriation, and other doubtlessly hilarious journeys, you can find me on Instagram.

Huge thank you to everyone who has been helping me rip the plaster so far in clearing the shop space fast and have purchased something be it beautiful shop stock, furniture, lighting, even those light switches and sockets off the walls LOL I couldn’t be more grateful for having you by my side in all of this, it means literally a world to me, I know you have my back.
The next stage of my treatment will start on Monday - 15 sessions of radiotherapy, five days a week for three weeks 💪🏽. I’ll keep the shop open on Saturdays for as long as I’m standing and there are things to sell LOL
This weekend Curated Stories will be open Friday 24th and Saturday 25th 10-5. These will be the official last open days so please do come along to say hi and bye. I’d like to be busy on these days, no tears, only smiles ok ♥️ You can book an appointment by DM or just turn up and we’ll figure a safe rotation...

Little reasoning...
It has been an incredible two weeks since the announcement of Curated Stories letting the shop space go. Everyone have been so supportive and understanding, and yes, shelves are starting to look a little less crowded too as a result. I cannot thank you enough for this, it has been amazing to see all friendly and familiar faces for the last time! You have all been very kind.
Although retail has not been the easiest business to be in for the past few years and COVID certainly hasn’t helped either, neither of these facts are the reason for the closure. My personal health is. As many have asked about the reasons of seemingly successful and loved shop closing its doors I thought it would be best to put it in writing, short and sweet.
Last autumn I was diagnosed with Grade 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. After many alternative therapies I was left with no option but go conventional and undertake chemotherapy. The response was partial. Surgeries that followed were regarded Grade 2. Next step will be 15-20 sessions of daily radiotherapy starting soon followed by six months of adjuvant chemotherapy.
And there you have it, as simple as that. I have a lot of work to do to get well, healing is a full time position in my circumstances. Hence I’m closing the door to the most beautiful shop space ever that was all I could have ever dreamt of.
All that said I don’t want to see this as a sad thing, rather a celebration of all amazing things Curated Stories was, and is, and perhaps will be too. It has been a blast and with your help I’ll get to rip the plaster fast before the next stage of my treatments will start. I do not want anyone’s pity, sorry sales I do not accept, but if you’d like to add couple of more Curated Stories items to your home or wardrobe - I’m looking forward to serving you at the shop one more time. 🔥 SALE UPDATE 🔥

Our extended Spring Clean is coming to an end! Cupboards are cleaned, website updated, core Curated Stories brands have been selected, finalised and stocked up. Everything is looking smashing and we’re super proud of the selection we stock.

SALE will end on 10th May, no joke. This gives you 10 more days from today to bargain hunt our website’s SALE category and get your hands on some amazing items at really silly prices; fashion, accessories, skincare, you name it! Our online SALE section will be removed on Monday 11th May so no more “add to basket” with sale goodies after that - it’s time to head to the check out with your bargains boys and girls!

Small print. If you live within driving or walking distance, please know that you can still come and COLLECT your order from the store. Once we’ve received your order marked with ‘collect in store’ at check out, we’ll send you a text to arrange a collection time and date. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send us a DM.

| UPDATE | Based on the latest guidelines from the Government, the time has come for us to offer highly restricted services for the time being. We don’t want to encourage people to venture outside for anything unnecessary when it’s perfectly clear that we all need to stay at home. Hence, browsing in store will have to wait.

As the Post Office has been included in the Government’s list of shops to stay open, our online shop remains open for now. And as .shop.park on the lower ground floor of Curated Stories continues to trade food and drink essentials (with daily fresh deliveries of bread, eggs and other groceries) until further notice - you can still pick up your CS online orders in store, if you’re healthy enough to do so. Please know that although our online store will remain open for now, we have made the decision to only despatch parcels ONCE a week in order to avoid putting ourselves and others at risk.

And last but not least: a big and heartfelt thank you to every each and one of you who continue to support us during these uncertain times. We are here for you, for now, the best we can. We would not have made it this far without your support for which we are eternally grateful.

| CURATED STORIES & COVID-19 | At this point in time the majority of us don’t want to deal with hoards of people. Cosied up inside, we are dreading to head to the supermarkets as we know they’ll either be full with people, or empty of goods. Hence, here’s a wee reminder about the absolute food gem with have downstairs: Park Shop. Park Shop’s shelves are always stocked up on food essentials, and we have fresh deliveries arriving regularly 🙌🏽✨

In order to make things easier and safer for customers that need to self isolate, we have decided to take Park Shop orders and payments over the phone. Once you know what you’re after, simply give us a ring and we’ll get it sorted. If you won’t be able to pick up the order yourself, please know that you can send someone in your place. However, if this isn’t an option either, we can deliver your goods to your door free of charge if you live in a 10 mile radius of Park Shop on Claremont Street.

And last but not least: a massive thank you to everyone who has supported both Curated Stories and Park Shop during these uncertain times 💖 We hope you’re all safe, happy and healthy - and that your family and friends are too 😘

| CURATED STORIES & COVID-19 | We live in a time of uncertainty, where the news and regulations on how Britain should combat the corona outbreak change on a daily basis. In the light of the most recent government recommendations Curated Stories have decided to stay open, but with a major focus on hygiene in order to keep everyone safe.

Please know that all customers are welcome to use our hand washing facilities during their visit in store. We’re stocked up on hand sanitiser and single use paper towels in order to minimise the risk of spreading any germs. We will also clean surfaces such as door handles, till units and card machines with antibacterial wipes, constantly.

In order to minimise personal contact, we have taken the decision to only accept card payments from today onwards - and would suggest customers to use the contactless option whenever possible. In addition to this, we will do our very best to monitor and limit the number of people in the shop at one time as we believe it’s crucial to enforce social distancing.

And please, if you show ANY signs of having already contracted the virus (i.e. if you have a fever, a cough or breathing difficulties) please stay home to look after yourself, self-isolate and get in touch with the NHS from the safety of your own home ❤️
