This is what can be done! They don’t have a retail park on their doorstep, but that said, they clearly have a supportive community.

The Rhondda town has been shortlisted for The Great British High Street 2019 and you can vote for it

Shrewsbury market, fab market with lots of independents and fab eateries and gin bars. Stalls £249 per month on ground floor, £149 per month on the balcony. Market of the year 2018, can’t fault it. Late night opening on Saturday. Lots of people, great atmosphere!

On Aberdare, which was once a busy and vibrant town (or so I have been told) I have been here for almost sixteen years and have never experienced this vibrancvy, and have seen a decline. What can we do to stop this decline? Does anyone care? What is your opinion?

Please share after reading! It's no secret that town's up and town the land are feeling the effects of lower foot fall, with many people favouring a online shopping experience or retail park. But, town's can work as Treorchy, Narbeth, Frome and Bath demonstate. The way forward for Aberdare is to work towards making it a place of interest, a destination. I am looking for a group of likeminded people to come together with ideas to discuss and take forward. People who will challenge the "that's the way it is" attitude.I welcome any positive comments and suggestions! Let's start the ball rolling, like and share and comment please!
