Hey All,

Here we have some work in progress pics of a set of late 14th century legs. These are our entry level legs to get fighters on the field. They have been commissioned for one of the local buhurt fighters
At this stage the parts are roughly shaped with edges rolled and some initial planashing to smooth out the humps and bumps.

Following on there will be more planashing, test fitting, initial sanding then heat treatment. Once the plates are hardened and tempered its on to final polish and assembly.

Some work in progress shots of 14th century greaves I am working on. These are part of the full leg harness commission mentioned in my last post.

In these pics we have the front plate of the left greave roughed out. Lots of hot work over a saddle stake and a ball stake.

As always, planashing out the imperfections comes next ahead of sanding, fitting and heat treating.

More updates coming this week so keep your eyes peeled.

More work in progress on the 14th century greaves. Still a little bit of tweaking to do but the are really starting to take shape.

These are made in spring steel and will be hardened and tempered.

15th century arms for the goth kids

These arms are in the last stages of assembly, just waiting on some buckles.

They are a simplified set of gothic arms with ‘floating’ elbows for buhurt. So no fluted decoration on these bad boys.

Floating elbows are laced to the undergarment rather than being rivetted to the upper and lower arms.

This set is made in hardened spring steel and oil blackened which not only looks cool, but helps with rust protection.
