Bonnefoy and Alechinsky: The Word and the Line
In 2013, Yves Bonnefoy brought together in Portraits aux trois crayons a series of texts devoted to artists, artworks, and the elusive presence that both words and the eye attempt to capture.
Pierre Alechinsky created an original engraving for this edition. Only 129 copies include it, signed and numbered by the artist.
The first ten copies, however, contain something more: each includes a manuscript page by Yves Bonnefoy, bringing the poet's handwriting into direct dialogue with Alechinsky's printed image.
Our copy is one of these first ten and is additionally signed by Bonnefoy beneath the limitation statement.
Printed text, manuscript page and original engraving: three forms of creation brought together within a single book.
