How do you say Jaguar in German? That’s probably what the original owner asked himself when he ordered and bought this one-off Framus Strato Deluxe in 1963 while stationed in Germany. This one will need a proper setup by my guitar doctor .novo before it’s ready to play, but I’m already in love with the way it looks.

The bold orange logo, the textured black cover… pure mid-century Gibson attitude. The kind of piece that probably sat on the counter of a small-town music shop while someone debated between a J-45 or a Les Paul.

These little artifacts remind us that guitar history isn’t only in the instruments — it’s also in the paper, the catalogs, the cases, the shop counters.

Real deal stuff.

I absolutely love these guitars. They’re truly exceptional.

I’m probably the left-handed player who has owned the most vintage Gibson Melody Makers in the world. I’ve collected them for years — decades even. And yet, through all that time searching and collecting, I’ve only ever come across one Epiphone Olympic in the Melody Maker version for a lefty.

And this is it.

It’s an incredible guitar: ultra lightweight, ultra resonant, with that raw early-60s character that makes these instruments so special. It has clearly been played — which is always a good sign — but it remains 99% original.

A real collector’s piece, but more importantly a guitar that immediately makes you want to play.
